Completed Fable the Journey, also tried out wreckateer and played Fable 2. It seems that you can't unlock the chest anymore in the heroes guild.

You can open it if you log in to Lionhead's old site with your user name (or something like that). I went onto their wikipedia and found the link and went in through there, since it's the same domain (or what ever it's called) name. Apparently you had to originally play 'A Hero's Tale' to open it.
