I really don't get why you guys are surprised,.
I actually prefer when characters curse, but I prefer when they actually have a vocabulary that goes beyond just curse words.
As I said, it's not that he says curse words that upsets people, its that he practically spews them out for no reason what so ever.
While old Dante's one liners at least TRIED to be creative, they may not have succeeded, but this new Dante is just like "F*CK YOU", and acts as though that automatically makes him cool, it honestly makes him look like an immature brat.

Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall
Dante's the equivilant of a sterotypical street kid who lives on the darker side of life. Since that's the case, he has a mean to be able to talk down to the demons who torment him because he's grown up around demons. Demons can cuss too, so they probably cuss up a storm while tormenting him, so when the day came where he snaps and decides to kill em', that's when he starts to cuss at them back. Since then, this has been a niche in his personality and has been how he is now. Like how someone does something a certain way since you were young and finally you decide to do it too. Monkey see monkey do. Dante was a sponge. That's all I gotta say about that.
Now back to the Topic at hand.

He's a rebel. That's kind of how most rebels were back in the Punk rock era. cusing was like a second language. Look at Lolipop Chainsaw's Zed. He's a Punk rock guy. Don't you wonder why he cusses so much? Cause he's Punk.
