Trojan

I have just got the trojan virus on my other HDD, i pulled it out and im on my reserve now. My problem is that my "anti virus" isnt working and it detected it but it hasnt done anything about it, and it isnt doing anything

Any help on what i should do?
BTW im using sophos antivirus because it was free and i cant afford a better one

Okay, i have AVG, i did the scan, but then i tried to delete the appropriate items, but it just wouldnt, how do i do it
