I have seen and read few which judge game fairly. Should I send you links? There has not been one review of DmC that i've seen that i can fully agree with
So what is the point in doing that? It makes as much sense as doing a politician debate but inviting only people from one part.
Anyway i found it funny that all of them is bashing on "haters" but it not saying that game failed to attract enough of new audience.
They were acting like Devil May Cry represents the entire series, if they're going to compare the games it helps that you're familiar with the series.
people on this forum really need to learn that outside of this particular forum, in the eyes of every objective reviewer, that this is a good game, regardless of its "lineage"

Or you can just have fun with the game you like the most and review it from what you remember playing.

I want one that compares the gameplay of 3/4 with DmC along with characters, dissect the story on its own merits and list its pro's and con'sI have seen and read few which judge game fairly. Should I send you links?
That has nothing to do with what I just said.
I have to partially disagree on the idea that games cannot be bad; that it's somehow completely subjective. It's not. These things are at least partially measurable. If I create a game that is incredibly counterintuitive, has terrible graphics and sound, and a soundtrack made by someone banging on a xylophone, would you say that's a quality game? Of course not.
I'd say DmC is a decent game, but from what I've seen, it's not worth a 9/10, as that suggests it's almost perfect. I don't see the problem with awarding it a 7/10.
But that's opinion based. You may say it's decent, but I'd call it next to perfect.
Sorry, let me rehprase that;
I meant they were just judging DMC from DMC1 because that's considered the pinnacle of Devil May Cry.
I think it's only okay if used in proper context.Probably means you view DmC more subjectively than objectively, and that's OK, I guess.
I think it's only okay if used in proper context.
But that's subjective.
And they would know this how?
Because we DMC fans aren't the only ones who play DMC. Other people play it too just so you know.
Also DMC3 is considered the pinnacle of Devil May Cry by alot of fans if not all. If they knew what they were talking about they'd know this and you know, look back on the other games instead of mentioning DMC1 and Age over and over again.
It doesn't matter whether subjective or objective. It's a game that did it's thing and did it pretty well to some people then others which gives it a 9/10. I don't agree either to such high scores, but that's just how the reviewer liked it.If you mean 'perfect' in an emotional way. If it's emotionally perfect to you; emotionally almost perfectly satisfying. When talking about gameplay, plot, soundtrack, acting and graphics, I doubt it's almost perfect and worth a 9/10 when compared to different games of the same genre (hack and slash).
No, but compared to other H&S games that came out at the beginning of 2013, it was.
Things like soundtrack are about half subjective. When you're talking objectively about a soundtrack, you'd say it fits the backdrop of the game perfectly, it reinforces emotional scenes, and so on. When talking about it subjectively, you'd say ''I like it because it's bombastic'' or ''It's fun to listen to''. Stuff like that.
But it did fit the game greatly. But that's once again an opinion even on an emotional level.
Probably means you view DmC more subjectively than objectively, and that's OK, I guess.
And without RE4 we wouldn't have DMC1 :troll:DMC3 may be the flashy one of the series, but without DMC1 starting the series, DMC3 wouldn't even see the light of day.
And without RE4 we wouldn't have DMC1 :troll:
Off topic: All this DmC vs DMC is getting to me. All I want to do is have a nice debate about DmC with out the personal insults.
On topic: They're just saying what others have all ready said about the game. DmC is just an all round okay game. You should just take what they said with a gain of salt.
if a game is fun then they successfully completed their job as game developersI do find some standards a bit odd. A lot of people, even reviewers, seem to think that if a game is fun, that's enough to award it a high grade. At least, that's what I noticed. You wouldn't believe how often you read: ''I liked it. It was fun. 9/10''. It sounds like a child's reasoning. There's still some standards, you know; something to base it on. And if you liked it a lot, why would you even grade it? A grade implies (to me) that there's a scale, obviously; a scale that's meant to be shown to your audience, not to yourself. And your audience does not like the same things you like, especially since every person is unique. I have a lot of like-minded friends, but nobody agrees with me completely when I grade things. Which is logical, since everybody has different values. So why grade a video game in the first place? It's not a math test.
Though I can understand it's a way to concisely show whether the game's good, instead of saying ''it's really good'' all the time.
