looking at the latest gameplay trailer cut scenes or story scenes or whatever u call it. i notice that the new dante makes faces like nero would do in dmc 4. so whenever i look at the ninja theory dante....i just picture nero's face with black hair.
I think I've said something similar before, but yeah to me he also feels more like Nero then Dante.
Also does anyone know when we might be getting some new information, and do you know when it will be released? I know it's sometime in 2012, I even heard somewhere that it would be mid January, but I highly doubt it since they said about a month or so back that the game is 30% finished, I think it will be closer to late spring or early fall.

My, where did you hear the year 2012? I've heard and seen everywhere that it would get released 2011, which would mean the end of this year. But it does seem very early, that 2011, yet why would official stores list them up with wrong release dates? Haha, DmC is one to confuse people in every possible way, but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

,and also they said it in a couple of interview videos which I'm to lazy to search for at the moment, but if you really want I could get the links for those as well...

There is one thing that went by almost un noticed. On capcom-unity's blog there was a character bio for Dante but it said that his name was Tony Redgrave. that as quickly fixed and they replaced it with Dante.

Now that could mean that when you start the game his name will be Tony and this is loosely based on the novel or is simply taking the main points and theme of the novel where Tony remembers who he is or it really was a typo.

okay guys i found this and it got me more excited for the game so i'll let you read it and see what you think:

“Dante himself has both demon and angel powers. Some of the side-attacks you see are his angel weapons, and there’ll be more angel weapons he can swap between. There are demon weapons like the axe. You can swap between angel, demon and human live through gameplay, and within angel and demon you can also swap into different weapons. There’s a lot of breadth to the combat.

Tameem adds: “In the incarnation of Dante, he’s much more aggressive and young. He’s more of a street fighter.”
“With the demon ability he can pull parts of the environment; with the angel one he can fly to different parts of the environment, chain up it or just glide, and it’s a mix between all of that – the combat, the gunplay, the angel, demon and human – that gives the breadth of combat we have.”
“There will be more depth in the final version that what you’re seeing now,” warns Jones, in case we judge too harshly.
“Obviously, from a combat standpoint, we don’t have all the moves in. What you’re seeing is just a very small sub-set of the final combat count.”
We see the Devil Trigger ability in action. Dante leaps from enemy to enemy in the air using chains, pulling himself around a courtyard without landing.
“With the Devil Trigger, a lot of the emphasis is on aerial combos and staying within the air. The more you stay in the air, the more damage you gain: it’s juggling. It’s very skill-based.”
Eshiro-san notes: “One of the biggest differences in this title compared to other Devil May Cry titles is the aerial combos. The Devil May Cry games up until now were much more focused on swordplay and gunplay on the ground. This time we’re adding another layer, another dimension, by focusing a lot on aerial combat and chaining between enemies in the air.”
A lot of the HUD elements – such as ranking and the Devil Gauge – are missing from the demo. They’re “coming,” according to Tameem.
The demo finishes with a section in which Dante’s platforming and racing against environmental puzzles, pitched against his malicious surroundings on floating islands and a church.
In the dock
From this point, talk switches to authenticity. I ask Tameem a question about weight of responsibility in creating something to appease Devil May Cry’s core fanbase and it’s as if we’re transported into a particularly taxing episode of Judge Judy.
“In terms of creating a combat system that feels right for DMC, that’s something that we’ve always wanted to do, but in terms of responding to the haters, we’ve got our plan. We’ve got our world and we’ve got our path, and we’re not changing that, because we believe that it’s a cohesive world that’s going to make sense when you get your hands on it,” says Antoniades.
“Unfortunately, people don’t have their hands on it, so they can’t appreciate or experience it. I think that all the people that are sceptical secretly want to like it, and our job it to prove that it is Devil May Cry in essence, and there’s a whole other dimension to it that we’ve added that will elevate it.” -vg247.com

Why does Dante even have human powers? He's half demon/half angel, there's nothing human in that equation, unles he's half human/half angel/half devil, at which point I wold beggin to questio NT's math skills.

bahaha! (ninja theory has bad math skillz lol) actually i think instead of literally being half angel/half demon/half human he is a human, and his power is divided into two sections: his angel powers, and his demon powers

I don't think it'll be that complicated but at this point any explination they give as to why a half angel/half demon child is human is provably going to be all kinds of cheezy, or a plot hole.

i doubt that, im sure the story will be good, because that's the one thing that ninja theory are really good at

Never really liked NTs stories that much, I rate them barely above a sci-fi original movie. Their acting and voice acting are great but their story deparment didn't really impress me as much as everyone said it would. This is all the more tragic because the stories only fall short do to bad plot devices. Provably shouldn't say stories since I've only played HS but I suppose playing half of their librery is qualification enough.

^ well that's your opinion on their stories, i think they have pretty great stories, heavenly sword was an alright story, and then it got better in enslaved, so if this keeps up then DmC should have a great story

If memory serves, Enslaved was writen by the writer of 28 Days Later so it shouldn't be a surprise that the story was good.

I'll be honest, NT wouldn't been my first choise for a western developer of the game nor do I like what Cpcm has done with the direction of the game so until i see reviews, or I see something to change my mind, I won't be buying this game. I have gone on long angry rants about the game before, mostly back when the game was announced, but I've managed to calm down. I wouldn't pretend to tell people how to spend their money so if you like what you see then by all means, I can certainly see the appeal, but I'm not big on it. Been a DMC game I still have an interest but I'm one of those people that are still angry a out the situation so they still have ways to go before they win me over.

oh trust me i wouldn't have picked ninja theory either, but apparently capcom saw something in them, and it might be stupid of me, but im putting my trust in capcom and ninja theory

Did anyone, either at NT or Capcom, say that Dante is Half-Angel and Half-demon?? Am i missing something here ?? Can anybody confirm this?
