In the novel Dante mentioned that he had no trouble whispering sweet nothings on women's ears so while he never had problems in thzt deparment.

Exact lines from the novel:
"Tony had no trouble seducing women with whispered words of adoration. But unless he was betting on a particular filly, he was disinterested in the race."

Though the above lines were more like Dante's conception of the situation. At many other points it was made clear Dante wasn't that suave with ladies, like the next quote of Dante's statement:
"Damn. And just when I finally got a date with Claire. Do you know how many months it took me to get her to agree?"

Wouldn't that imply that Dante's the narrator, then?

It all depends on how stories are written. In Japanese very often the narration seems like a mix of "I" and "he" as the doer. And even while in the "he" way of telling, there are different levels. Native language classes are a great way to get some insight to this kind of areas, and in different languages things work a bit differently, as can be expected.

that's pretty much what i thought

I gave it a thought and came back with a pitiful try to explain it; maybe they did have a typo and meant 2011, and that since the game took so little time to get ready Dante has the ability to slow time (so more could be done with less time)?? xD I'm so feeling the language barrier around me right now, haha. Ok, all I just wrote is so silly that it couldn't be that way. I'm just warming-up my fingers here, I guess. xD

I get what you mean though

hmmm....2001 eh? could be a definite misprint, or it could actually be 2001. it never really affected the game too much as to when the time span was. but hey VB was there any other information like that?

Hey now, was this about the time line inside the game or the actual time people are living and during which developing games? I'm falling off now, English is spitting on my face. D:
But yes, any more info regarding this?

im talking about the timeline in the game because you didn't really know exactly when the devil may cry games were set, you just knew it was in modern day, so im assuming DmC will take place in modern day, unless the article was right and the 2001 thing was not a type-o

I'd like to say it couldn't be a type-o because they are proffesionals and prof-read everything before it's released, but since I once saw a magazine where there was a sims article instead of deus ex that goes down the drain...

well, i've read through the article again, and what I've quoted is what it says... nothing else. I suppose time will tell when more info is released

Well, being professional doesn't always seem to cut it. I've read a lot, and seen a lot of typos in magazines and books supposedly handled by professionals. But what can you do, we're human after all; mistakes happen so very easily.
