if they are in the game, i want them to have moments of substance to where i can say that i actually know what these characters were like as people and as parents. i wanna know as as much about them as you can fit in. tell about what kind of demon race sparda is or what nationality eva is and what her job was etc.

nero is gonna be complicated to adapt.

yeah we definitely need that. we know who sparda and eva are, but that's about all, we don't know their personalities, we don't know how they interacted with others, and we just know nothing about them besides a very small amount of backstory.
and if nero is in this reboot, it will probably be easy to make him fit in somehow since his story was never explained, but it might just make the story more complicated if he is in it.

The beauty of this reboot is that they have a chance re-tell the story, doing Eva and Sparda justice this time around, I just hope they don't miss out on that, because I would actually like to see the two of them as characters, and not just beeing casualy mentioned from time to time. Well maybe that's just me, but I really hope they do it.

i agree with you milkmydragon this is the perfect opportunity to present eva and sparda as actual characters, it would really make my dmc experience to see actual cutscenes of sparda and eva

you could have that done two different ways, by having the characters themselves tell us that and having other people fill it in for us. it might be disheartening for dante to have everyone else tell him things about his parents rather than learning it from them.

Nero's role is slightly complicated by the fact that he is a "young dante clone" or a character meant to replace him which makes him redundant at this point. he's not a character we need to see for the next 5-6 games.

the best way to do him would be to radically change him and present him without ties to dante in order to make him stand out more. The main complaint people had with nero was that he was too dante-esque to really stand out so if we change that, he might be better recieved. but it might just be easier to make a new character.

another way would be for him to be vergil's kid who is a baby since it includes him the game without making him redundant and explains the connection he has with the characters, he gives vergil deeper motivation and a bigger contrast to dante's self-centered behavior. also gives him an explanation for dante-vergil traits dsince he was raised by both something would rub off.

By the way, Gameinformer says that there is a woman there who talks to Dante about some plan, though Ninja Theory didn't say much on the matter.

Hmm, I don't remember anything about a clear plan, though in the trailer first the girl worried over demons being after her and Dante, then that the camera spotted Dante, and that, presumable demons, are trying to stop Dante and then about it that she found the camera locations for the area and so on and so forth, but it's very hard to hear most of the stuff when the announcers are talking at the same time. But that much is clear that they are workin together, why they do that is not so clear.

Hopefully we have more than just Dante to play as. But I hope it's two separate campaigns and not 13 missions to one guy and 7 to the other. >.>

actually i gotta disagree with ya storm silves i would like to see a one character playthrough, but i do respect your opinion

If they both have unique campaigns and the same number of missions *glares at DMC2* then I see no reason why it wouldn't be bad to implement.

Me too, I think this should be a very Dante-centric game, and even though they could put in a another character to play as, I don't think they'll do it, as it would steal the spotlight from Dante in his own origin story.

i wouldnt mind being able to play as vergil and lady just aslong as they learned from their mistakes with 3 and 4.
plus there is always dlc that they can be regulated to.

yes that would definitely be cool, what they should do is make the whole journey dante's, then come out with dlc for another character's different story in the game (such as vergil's or lady's or whoever is in the game)
