Don't you just hate that you work a 70 hour week, you look forward to the weekend

You plan to spend the day out with your wife and daughter, and the weather is crap

Its pis*ing rain, and to top it off the corona virus scares have caused most places we would go to Close down anyway.

Feel like ranting a little about coronavirus? Go for it, because at least you've got a roof over your head.

The situation is this: we're moving to a new apartment on Tuesday.
The company that sold us the apartment announced that all offices are closed for now because of the coronavirus.
So, we don't have the keys for the new apartment and we can't fetch them as planned because there will be no one at the office anymore.

We've got a rental van for Tuesday and we've packed the most of our belongings, but we've got nowhere to place them.

We've got our current apartment for two more weeks, thank god, so we're not ending up to the street – yet. Just that after Tuesday the electricity will be cut off here. And with no electricity, we have no lights, no phones, and no running water. We've got the district heating system, so we're not gonna freeze to death – again, yet.

We've now got two weeks to sort this out because on April 1st we have nowhere else to go but to the street with our stuff, and by the way, it's still pretty cold here in Finland, especially during the night.

We could go to my father to spend the nights but since the national railway company is also cutting off some of the traffic, it's a bit of a problem to even get there.

Hoo-fcking-ray!

Calm down, calm down, man... This isn't an episode of "Ghost Adventures." ;)
Managed to calm down.

... except that the carcass is still on the floor where I left it.

Reminds me of that time I found a boiled baby lizard in my teapot filter X3
How the f*** did it get there.
Goddamn lizards.

Emergency act will be enforced here tomorrow. Pretty much everything is closing down – schools, libraries, adult education, everything. Everyone over 70 years will be in quarantine from now on, gatherings of more than 10 people are forbidden, the borders will be closed.

This is going nuts.

I'm trying to get a ride to my disabled father ASAP to help him. Doesn't look too good with the trains anymore... Told him not to use his car anymore since there's no guarantee that he'd get any more fuel for it, so it's not going to be easy. :hungover:

It sucks that I find an interesting manga to read that not only has a nice story but professional translations.

... but only for the first two chapters or so, because an amateur group takes over for the rest, adding "-san", "oniichan", "princess-sama", etc. everywhere, ruining the whole experience.

People in a western-oriented fantasy world don't use Japanese honorifics, you dumbf***s.

I hope that you're not referring to that article in connection to my post, to hint that it would be selfish to travel to my father to help him, as he is a handicapped (brain injured because of a stroke) elderly man living on his own and unable to get through his everyday life without his caretaker.

Nothing to worry about! The timing and connection between that post and that link were indeed odd in my point of view, so thank you for making this clear.

I'm really sorry if I alarmed you, it wasn't my intention, and I didn't realize that the tone of my reply was pretty rude.
To explain this a little, I might not be able to communicate with a normal tone in text right now. In addition to the current situation and worries about my father*, I have migraine and there are either no painkillers left at the pharmacies or getting them is restricted by Emergency Act. I'm thinking about calling to the hospital to ask if they could give me some pills from their own warehouse because doing so would spare them from having to take me in to get some intravenous medication. This is the sort of headache that occasionally strips you from your ability to stand on your feet.

* As for my father, I'm not going there right now, because I have no place to spend my nights there. I'm definitely not going to step into my fathers apartment straight from a crowded train during the next few months (we're both in the risk group), and the weather is too cold for staying in a tent if it can be avoided. So I'm just calling him twice a day to check if he's got everything he needs and I will visit him only if he really needs me.

You.

Take that f***ing disgusting thing away.
Don't show it to me ever again.
Don't speak of it ever again.

You know what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about "character action".

Doom Eternal is still going strong despite Bethesda accidentally releasing the DRM-free exe file.

Like, what the **** more do companies need to understand that DRMs (and especially ****ing Denuvo) are not as important as they think they are when it comes to preserving sales? GOG and CD Projekt have been going with the no DRM policy forever and they are successful as heck. Now a highly anticipated game comes out with a DRMless version and it's still selling well (DMC5 was also a very similar case), is all this not proof enough that DRM only hurt the consumer experience while also have an at most negligible effect in protecting sales (even early ones)? They just don't get it. When you release a good game, it's gonna sell itself. Those who want to pirate it WILL DO SO regardless, they're just going to wait for the crack to be released. How's this simple concept not understood by the vast majority of the gaming industry? Bunch of idiots.

****ing "news" only talking about Coronavirus are breaking my balls. Saying the same **** over and over and over again. Every """news""" piece always boiling down to respect the safety rules, stay home, virus is bad, people are sick. Yeah you said all that yesterday already. And the day before that, and the day before and the day before. ****ing talk about something else too. The epidemic ain't the only thing happening in the country.
