I mostly follow TotalBiscuit, Gggmanlives, Nerdcubed and CGRundertow for reviews, but I still don't take their reviews as final.
TotalBiscuit provides pretty in-depth reviews, especially for PC games. He's a little bit less overt and dogmatic than the rest of his compatriots on The Escapist, and mainly sticks to his opinion as a gamer when he can help it.
The best reviews I find don't come from reviewers like CGRundertow or Angry Joe, who play and review a ton of games on a normal basis---but rather, long-time fans of certain franchises who have long-standing credentials and in-depth knowledge about their favorite games.
If you want valid input on past and future
Resident Evil games, watch AlphaOmegaSin. If you want valid input on stealth games like
Thief and
Deus Ex, watch Razorfist. If you want valid input on the
Dragon Quest series, go to HappyConsoleGamer.
But of course, there are game franchises that divide fanbases and either please or infuriate their diverse set of fans---such as the afore-mentioned
Resident Evil series, the radically-diverse and varied
Star Fox series, and a wildly-inconsistent and ever-changing franchise you might've heard of called..."Devil May Cry"? For those games, you can only trust your experience with the game, because that's the defining verdict is.
- Because of all the disdain and rage from hardcore fans, I wasn't too thrilled about trying out the black sheep of the Star Fox series, Star Fox Assault...only to sink countless hours into it, and hail it as my all-time favorite of the series.
- For its universal hatred and polarizing reviews, I didn't think I'd like DmC...and then I actually played it, and I ended loving it.
- I heard nothing but raging criticism and senseless bashing against Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, but then I finally have it a try...and it became my favorite game of the seventh generation.
Trust reviews sites as you will, but above all, trust your own personal preference above all else.
