The background behind that character model during the trailer looked a heck of a lot like the Nightclub after it opens up towards the end of the Devil Has Talent portion. The lights go down and everything has a bluish purple-tint, and the laser lights are all fancy.

There's more to the nightclub level than it being all orange. It goes through a few transformations, and the third of which is dark, like a rave with the lights off. When they show that character model, the blue lady there, in the trailer that's on the demo, behind her looks a lot like the later versions of the nightclub level.

You can tell that is not Kat..heck the border of the forum has her on it and you can compare it and see the eyes, mouth and nose do not match as well as the face structure are not the same,it took a minute just to do that comparing.

That's not Kat, that's just another regular enemy.
It was shown here ( see from 44 secs to 55 secs):
That demon woman manequim uses spells to protect herself and other enemies on screen. She is mentioned in the new PSM magazine ( *A blue, witch-like enemy can cast a protective shield around its allies.)...

Actually, upon further inspection, in the trailer, the background behind this blue lady isn't the third portion of the nightclub, it looks like the part of Overturn when Dante is getting close to the Barbas' tower.
Which means...she's probably just a generic enemy type that we haven't gotten to see at all. In fact, Gregaman mentioned they'd be doing another stream of another level, so chances are we might see her there. But, she's not Kat, it doesn't fit with the other stuff we know about the story, especially with Kat being traded for Lilith after she's kidnapped, so the chances of this blue alien-lady being Kat are pretty slim.

Even then, a cliche itself isn't bad, it's what is done with it. There's all the circumstances like how it fits with the story, and how it's handled.
And since the classic DMCs all had their own fair share of cliches, complaints on that are a bit invalid :/

Definitely not Kat, but that is a cool looking demon. I hope there is alot more enemies like this in the game.

That's true I was wondering about this. It seems alot of people on Deviantart are ripping images from the game somehow.
