So what do you guys think about this Vergil?

I like him, he's still the same Vergil. It's nothing to be afraid of saying.

Getting the job done is what Vergil is all about. Sacrifices may happen and as a demon hunter he knows this. Kat sacrificed herself for the greater good, she knows the consequences, and she knows Vergil. It's why he's the leader. Only reason Vergil is ok with helping Kat is because Dante is his brother. You can see it in his face. If it were anyone else they would've been dismissed or dismembered. I think Vergil is noticing Dante falling in love with this woman and isn't trying to get in the way, but the job they've both agreed to work hard to do is at risk. Kat's sacrifice would be in vain and their entire foundation would crumble if they fail the main objective.

So I agree with Vergil on this one. Dante is being way to soft. This is no time for love and friendship. People are dying by the minute and they're the only ones who can stop it.

I like to think of Vergil in this as Sosa and Dante as Scarface. Dante is playing both sides of the saying "All I have in this world is my word and my balls. I break them for no one." Vergil sees Dante playing the other side of the fence and tries to put his brother in check by flat out telling him. "That is MADNESS!" Dante's been out on his own for too long and he's probably jealous of Vergil because he grew up in a different setting. Vergil on the other hand is probably thinking about how grateful he has been to not have been through what his brother has. But, those thoughts that Dante is an idiot probably come up frequently. I bet he just wants to say "It's a SACRIFICE she chose to make on her own!"

Dante's probably thinking "Prep kid." while Vergil is thinking "Peasant." Even in real life, if you dress like Dante then people who dress like Vergil will not approach you and vice versa. Playing off of stereotypes. Ninja Theory is really pushing up on this issue and I respect them for making this game a message rather than just "another action title."

All in all, it'll be personal opinion on if Vergil is a bad guy or not. I don't care if I'm playing with the main character, they're not always right. So if Vergil winds up stabbing Dante in the back for the billions of people, then so be it. Boo hoo player. Your character just got stabbed for being wrong.

Well said.
All I have to say is, that I like this Vergil. And even though he has white hair, an o-katana, and a professional look, fans STILL FIND REASONS TO HATE.
No. Just no.
They should have just turned him into TGS 2010 Dante. Just to agitate the fanboys. Seriously. There's no pleasing them. I've had enough.

I believe Yahtzee said it best at around 4:20.

People have gone so far as to say that the people in the trailer can't act. I'd like to see them do better.

For me:
-Vergil is too calm and polite.
-His hair is placed, I dont like these one, could be more like DMC3 virgil, blonde is ok. Because of this he looks like pussy.
-Also suit is bad, do you rembemer guys movie Equlibrium ? There were clerics which wear great suits which could match to vergil.

It's a business and people will not like every single thing that you do. These forums have always been a place for people to complain about things. It's pretty much why they exist. But, the business of video gaming had gotten a tad bit too "influenced" by the forums. When they started listening to complaints, everything changed. Now all you see are studios being shut down because they followed what the "fans" said and not what their hearts were saying. Therefore, when they create something, their hearts aren't into it and what happens? Failures.

Hey, choc. Sorry I didn't read any of your posts about this yet. I was gone for a couple of days just waiting for gamescom and whatnot. I waited too long, lol.

Seriously, I'm just mad. I can't deal with this right now. It's TGS 2010 all over again.

YES. THIS.
Diablo III was delayed countless times because of this. First, it was "too colorful". Then it was "too dark". Then the Infamous 2 ordeal. They didn't like the hair, so it was changed. It's as if the hair, or the color, has anything to do with the game mechanics. It doesn't. Not by a long shot. And now, studios everywhere are closing because they spent too much money listening and catering to the fans, who are diminishing in number every day.

Just because the fans get what they want doesn't mean that their purchase is guaranteed.

Ima do what i did when 1st saw Dante in 2010, wait and see what he's capable of. He hates demons so his personality may change he's in a fight. Also he is a leader of a human resistance having that cold and emotionless attitude all the time that classic virgil has may scare quite a few people.

Get the friggin tissues out... That Vergil is too nice.

"hey, I'm Vergil, I'm you brother. You don't know it yet, but i'll probably stab you in the back...."
Yeah, try not to make the plot too obvious NT

I've gotta agree with Lexy on this one.

You see? You see?? This is what I'm talking about.

When DMC3 Vergil raised the Temen-ni-gru tower out of the ground, fangirls squealed and swore up and down that he wasn't evil. When this Vergil shows genuine concern over humanity, they claim he's too nice.

If you end the lives of thousands of people, you're evil. End of story.

Fangirls... stop. Just stop.

You don't need glasses to see who that's aimed at.
I meant Vergil being nice to Dante...

Make him nice to stab Dante in the back... it's too obvious.

Are we not entitled to our opinions... It's not that I hate the new Vergil, but what they've done to his character is too obvious.

Capcom plans to unleash a gameplay Vergil video later today, so stay tuned.

Does this mean Vergil is a playable character?

Let's say your assumption is wrong and Vergil remained as the good guy. What would you say then?

It wouldn't be Devil May Cry if Vergil didn't stab Dante in the back.

If i'm wrong I'm not going to Bawwww over it.
