Wow. Now just cause he has a tattoo it's wrong? Why do people have a problem with him having a tattoo. It's the "Dante getting laid" part all over again.
No one has a problem with the actual tattoo. The issue is the why. Why give him a tattoo. Would anything be different without it? It seems forced and phonie from just seeing it like that almost like saying 'check it out, I have a tattoo.' I know it's got mystic properties and there is more to it but so far all I see of it is that sence look how cool I am.

So out of pure curiosity, so for this to not be confused at all with a sarcastic comment or some such, what would you have done yourself and have it be where it stands for the same thing (far as we know)? I'm sure maybe a ring or some such could've worked just as well. Or, hell, even the necklace/amulet he has. However I'm still curious as to the ideas of everyone else of what they would have done instead.

What I would have done would have been equally cliche. Something along the lines of Raziel's spectral sword entwined along his arm.

Or, something like this, maybe, but with a sword.

Notice how Spawn's and Raziel's eyes somewhat look alike? I guess I go for that ethereal green glow. Intimidating, yet still just heroic enough to put on your protagonist.

I see people ask "Why a tattoo?", but then we can just as well ask "Why not?". It could be, as mentioned above, a ring, an amulet, a pair of shades, a magic gauntlet, whatever! But they decided it should be a tattoo and it doesn't need further explanation, but if there is an explanation it will probably be shown in the game.

The same reason Dante wears expensive coats, The same reason Johnny Bravo wears sunglasses, the same reason Cloud carries aroung a giant sword, and they all will answer;

Like I said, the tattoo itself is fine. It's the emphesis on it. I't not easy to explain. If he had a tattoo on his arm or on his forarm that we knew he had because we saw it while he was walking around it'd be one thing but the thing was death center of the screen to makesure we saw it; again, it's that whole 'look what I got' air to it that bothers me about it.

It's alright to question why he has it and how he got it, but it sounds like you have already found it unnecessary for him to get it instead of waiting for an explanation to why and how he actually got it. What we have seen so far are just teasers to the game, just small bits and pieces to poke our curiousity. We aren't meant to know all these yet, because that would be to give away too much information. We are supposed to learn about these things by playing the game.

Like trailers for a movie, they aren't supposed to explain the whole plot and inform us of every detail that is happening in the movie. Have patience.

But the tattoo was healing him and holding Rebellion inside it, of course it needs emphesis. Just look at the "Hell of a night, call us" on his arm, we had to watch the trailer and see the screenshots a few times in order to realize what was written, because they didn't focused on it, it wasn't important, the tattoo is.

and free us of your constant whining? Why would you want to do that?

You know that the ******* saddest thing is? Those people insist on us being the douches.
