It doesn't even mean that. It just means they have nothing to say about DMC or DD at this point.

considering that planning +production can take up to 6 years, don't think we ee anything anytime soon:(

Not even that. Capcom usually spends about 3-4 years on major titles. Their stated goal with DMC is to have the series on a 2.5 year release schedule.

this means exactly that. They said they can't talk RE7 but there is something to it. They said its nothing to tell about DMC

Well, maybe we'll get lucky and Capcom will ask someone like Mercury Steam for help when DMC5 comes around. I doubt it though.

Because they have acknowledged RE7 before, not to mention they announced the Resident Evil 20th anniversary campaign at TGS. They have made no such comments about the existence of any future DMC games.

Mercury Steam are lucky they're still operational.

no plans =/= can't talk about.

Citation needed. Here are some examples of companies saying "no plans" in a variety of situations, and it turned out they did indeed have plans: playstationlifestyle dot net/2015/08/22/phantasy-star-online-2-english-no-plans-but-relax/#/slide/10

"No plans" means absolutely nothing on its own. It can mean anything from "no plans for an announcement yet", "no plans to discuss X at this current point", "no plans to make X at this current time", "no plans to make X ever", etc. It's a non-committal answer. There is no basis for assuming "no plans" means "no plans to develop and release a new DMC or Dragon's Dogma title now or in the near future".

If you have anything to support your argument that no "no plans" conclusively means the lack of any new DMC or DD titles in the near future, I suggest you present them now or concede.

not really. He directly said that he wants to do it, but there are no plans for the time being

Kobayashi also claimed during DMC4's development that DMC4 would have more weapons, abilities, enemies, cutscenes etc. than any previous DMC game, which turned out not to be the case. It's PR speak. It means diddly-squat. Hence why it's called public relations. It's about controlling the flow of information to the general public, not about making absolute statements of true intentions.

Read interview before trying to debate on something.

Please point to the part of this interview, which incidentally is two interviews with two different people, where it is outright stated that Capcom has no plans to either announce or develop another DMC or DD title in the near future or ever.

Capcom should bring out a devil may cry 4 DLC, about the origin of Nero, so I'll be happy until the next game.:D
i get were your coming from

but if Capcom were to go in depth about Nero's origins i'd want it to be either an Anime movie or addressed in DMC 5

cus if i saw DLC for DMC4 i would FLIPOUT

I've been playing this game for 7 YEARS!

and as much as i love Special Edition
were done with DMC 4
it's over we need to move forward

"No plans" is just PR speak. It's the same as "no comment". It means absolutely nothing.

Marketing campaigns for big titles like DMC are tightly run ships. They have a firm marketing plan which they're going to stick to. He's not going to confirm or deny the existence of any new DMC games or any other title in a completely random magazine interview. He can say "no plans" in a hundred interviews even if DMC5 was to release tomorrow, because that's how these things work. Similar comments have been made regarding other games which were then announced weeks or months after the fact.

You'll hear nothing from Gregaman on this because even if he knows something he's not allowed to say anything, whether confirm or deny, because it could mean his job.

Honestly I don't think this is PR talk, I think it genuinely means there are no plans for further development of a DMC game at the moment.

Gregaman would be allowed to deny the existance of another DMC game because he would simply be confirming what Capcom have already said. They are currently denying another DMC game will be made in the near future. Gregaman can't get in trouble for reaffirming what Capcom have already said.

We're already getting into the core of the PS4 generation next year, so its a bit late to start development now. The game won't be ready for a few years. So honestly I can't see Capcom doing another Devil May Cry game at this point unless its already in development and their keeping it quiet.

In the context of the interview I don't see it as a particularly damning statement. The passive nature tell me that he doesn't want to get in to it, which can be either good or bad. The issue is that I believe him and that means they're aren't and haven't been working on a DMC title, which means not this year, not next year, and maybe not even the year after.
