New Vergil or Devil May Cry 3 Vergil?

You wanted my criticism, you got it. Objectively, it's still very much a good game. The reason why I make the point of mentioned objectivity is because much of the criticism of the game is based off of undue expectations that the game is somehow supposed to meet when the entire point was for those kind of expectations not to be a concern. Criticism like "being able to stay in the air too easily" is dumb, because part of the game's entire design was to add more aerial combat, instead of making it some nebulous realm for elite-level players and twitchy animations.

You wanted "flaws" but refused to accept that flaws, by nature, are supposed to be something that reduce the objective value of the whole, and while some of what I said was personal gripes about DmC, some were flaws that could have been addressed to fix.

What Pyroblade said. There are just some things that, by nature, are accepted as "objectively better". To fall back on design philosophies, making a platformer where jumping is far too complex for such a simple action, that's just objectively bad design. If the sole purpose can't be met with a simple interface, that's just bad. It's why people go to school to learn the pitfalls (pun not intended but wholly welcome) and problems in particular fields, you're explicitly taught what is objectively bad and objectively good to make the best product.

Well, if you want to expose trolling or insults, I'd suggest making a list of things people said in a Word file, so then if you're right you actually have evidence. If some people deserve to get banned, then you should show it to admins. I can remember some unfair stuff (and downright false claims) about the DMCs from my time on YouTube and ****e, but obviously remembering isn't enough. But really I hope we're past this... there should be no need to report anyone.

Stop manipulating words and coming up with asinine contexts. I don't understand why you constantly feel that we're "attacking" the classics. If the topic is criticism, we criticize. That's how it works. There's plenty of discussion elsewhere where talk is much more jovial or upon your acceptable level of admiration.

nah. I never report anyone. besides even if people deny what they did, they still know it. I don't think anyone should be banned here, but I wish some people could have at least try and say truth.

If someone trolled before, there's a good chance they'd do it again. For the sake of the forum's longevity it might be best to get them banned. But anyway, I can't say much more about this... I don't even know what the subject is here. You should get some things off your chest like in real life. What unfair things did they say that they called ''criticism''? You can PM me if you want... let's not let this spill into this thread.

No, the fact that you said those things probably in reference to DMC4, using it as an analogy to why DMC4 is considered bad by you, and then calling it 'objective criticism' is flaming. I don't know why he calls it 'trolling' but I think he means flaming. I've seen a lot of people make fun of DMC4... making fun of several aspects. There's nothing bad about that, but when you're saying it in an insulting way, I can understand people would feel insulted themselves.

he was talking about DMC5. And the crap he wrote was' funny only in trolling kind of way.

Except, the thread if I remember correctly was talking about what the next Devil May Cry game should be. In no way am I referring or even thinking about DMC 4. Where in the hell do you even get all that from?

And the last DMC game was DMC4, so obviously you are referring to what the next DMC would be like if it were like the previous game (DMC4). This is obvious because you said Dante gained some weight from eating pizza. In DMC4, Dante gained some weight. Gaining weight is not funny in itself, so it's obviously a reference to DMC4. You've also criticized DMC4 before (read: every time you get the chance), so I'm guessing that was your intention again.

Here you are flaming because you are acting like the DMCs did not deserve a good score, and you're acting like the DMC games all have terrible scripts and terrible characters, etc etc. Your posting of 'Game of the Year 11/10'' shows your contempt for it. But that's just my interpretation, as I've seen you talk about DMC3 and DMC4 that way before. DMC1 is the only one you liked, right? Well, no reason to p!ss people off by telling them they're wrong for liking DMC3 and DMC4.

But maybe I'm wrong... maybe you seriously just wanted to post a funny story. If so, no harm done, right?

Um, duh. I don't even remember posting that. Just some wacky stuff on the top of my head probably when I was up late or something. I have no idea how in that any way means I'm bashing DMC 4.

I'd still play a DMC 5 hoping it was good. I never said anything about me not wanting to see another one from the original continuity ever again. My favorite game of them all is still the first one. I seem to be one of the only ones who still thinks the first is Numbah 1. :thumbsup:

Primarily based on nostalgic heartstrings I'm not gonna lie. :tongue:

There's a fine line between acting silly and being stupid. Words mean things. Have a dictionary hanging around so you use them properly before you type them. Ok? Ok. Good boy.

Very convinient. But actually it's not about that single post. It's about your common attitude. That's just post i picked because I just saw it recently. And in the end it pretty much summarize your acting on the forum on regular basis.
