New Devil May Cry will teach casuals the "magic" of pro gaming

I'm kinda sad that a huge chunk of the pro-DmC community is bad at taking criticism even when it's constructive, but we do appreciate what you do here, Chaser.

Maybe if (when?) they make DmC2 they can ramp it up even more so to compete with DMC4 in terms of combo versatility.

I was in no way taking criticism the wrong way, I just wanted to know where he was coming from because when I feel extremly dissapointed or unintersted in a game I tend to avoid it as well as message boards pertaining to it, they're are quite a few things I find wrong with this game, in fact I go into each DMC game expecting not to enjoy it as much as DMC1 and I have no reason to feel differently about the new one.

This. It's becoming a serious problem.
The Devil May Cry Forums are one of the few safe havens, but rarely.
Some people need to maturely discuss something, as opposed to just lashing out.

I'd enjoy this as well.
I'm hoping that Ninja Theory takes a lot of lessons from DmC, not only to improve IPs of their own, but as well to improve their vision of what a Devil May Cry game is.
If a DmC2 is made, I undoubtedly have faith in Ninja Theory to make a superior game.

No doubt! They evolved SO MUCH with this game, if they take some feedback and get more time to work with Capcom and among themselves, DmC 2 really can be up to DMC3 and 4 when it comes to combat, but they REALLY need to make it 60fps so they can balance the gameplay around it.

I think DmC is way behind DMC3 and 4 combatwise, but Enslaved's combat to DmC's combat was a step forward billion times bigger than DMC 3 to 4, not that it means much, but who would've thought that Ninja Theory could make combat this good?

Hopefully all the criticism will be taken as good feedback to help them evolve, rather than "those people hate our game :("

Oh, I wasn't talking about you. This forum is mostly fine in terms of criticism, but most everywhere else has DmC fans acting quite defensive about the game, even though it's admittedly not perfect.

I'm fine with 45 (what X360's Bayonetta had). Either way, I'm sure Unreal Engine 4 is more than up to the task.

Thanks for the reply I think I was just irritaed because I came out of some irrationally negative posts sorry didn't mean to come off rude

No worries. I'm just glad you didn't do anything like:

"GOD Y U R HERE WHEN ALL U BRING IS NEGATIVITY WTF LEAVE!!!!!!!"

If you did, then we would have a problem. Something like this happened before, but not to that extent of course. But it's only normal to ask about my appearance when I'm not gonna buy DmC. It still doesn't mean I'm not interested in the story.

Thank you. And yeah the pro-DmC community tends to not take critique very well. I have people who complain about me comparing DmC between DMC4 constantly. And I mean constantly.

They will have to change a lot of things in order to do it right for DmC2. Including using a different engine.

Also for those who responded for me, I appreciate it but I can speak for myself like ZeroLove said. No offense though.

I think DmC2 could run well off of Unreal 3, look at how DmC runs on PC

Besides, it would be wishful thinking to say it will be a current-gen title.
I'd expect DmC2 to be released on next-gen platforms. Possibly on Unreal 4.

It runs great, but they didn't remake the combat for the PC version, so it's the same 30fps combat engine but smoother.

It's already a big improvement (specially after playing the PS3 demo), but it's still not ideal.

The lack of hard lock-on does hurt the combat more than the framerate though

It might be better, but if you can get it on Xbox I'd do it just to be safe, even though it's weird to play a Devil May Cry game on Xbox, I even use my dual shock on PC haha
Yeah i decided on the xbox version just to play it safe, ive heard things like shading have been fixed on PS3 but i havent heard anything about fixes to the frame rate.

I feel like the frame rate issues might not be fixed.

Call me skeptical, but I think it's gonna happen. PS3 has a lot of problems with frame rate issues when cross platform games are released on the PS3 as well.

I'm just curious how did DMC4 run on PS3? I only have it for Xbox.

When I had it, I didn't have any problems running DMC4 on my PS3. But certain games like Borderlands, Sonic Unleashed, UMVC3, I have fps drops. And it happens pretty often. I'm sure it's not just me because I have searched that people had similar problems.

I was just curious because Bayonetta's engine seemed similar to the MT Framework engine and that was horrendus for PS3, of course that was a port so that was probably the real culprit.

Bayonetta was ported from Xbox360 to PS3 by a different company than Platinum Games. PG swore that they would never outsource porting like that ever again after that.

PS3 has bad ports most the time because not many developers can be bothered with the systems complexity to get to it's full potential.

That's the only problem I have with you, but you know, it's not just you doing it, I see MANY people on youtube, silconera, etc. do the exact same thing. People need to understand that it's a reboot and a reboot doesn't mean it has to be a complete rehash like DMC4. DmC is good in its own way whether you see it or not.

That still doesn't mean you can't compare them.

It's like saying you can't compare the movies Spider-Man to The Amazing Spider-Man when The Amazing Spider-Man is clearly a reboot. Things are going to be compared and contrasted whether you like it or not. Without comparisons and actual discussions, we won't figure out on what has been improved or changed for the better of the franchise.
