Do you think it's shorter/longer than DMC4? I don't remember how long that one takes on Normal for a average-to-good player.

I t6hink do to the lack of bosses is little shorter....now I'm playing it on DMD ..it is a freakin beast

DMC4 is definitely the longer game but it had tonnes of padding.

I don't know from what I've seen both games have a lot of padding, only in DmC it is busy-work and platforming sections. I think it's those sections that will take up the most time from failed jumps etc

Speaking of which Thanashs, how were the latter platforming sections? a lot of them seem a bit awkward. Did you find yourself falling a lot?

I can agree that the platforming in DmC is padding of sorts but DMC4 had backtracking, that Gyro blade thingy that took up a lot of time, that dice game which which requires either luck or extreme precision, and we had to fight many of the bosses again. If NT were to do what Capcom did for DMC4, DmC certainly would be a longer game.

I watched a stream myself.

And I'm really disappointed with the weapons. Especially Kablooey, which was the one weapon that I thought would have extremely amazing potential in terms of it's use. I do see some Calibur usage for Aquila.

Maybe Calibur > Osiris > Calibur > Osiris. I'd really love someone to mess around with Calibur when the full game is out.
so you decided on getting the game?
I agree that DMC1's SSS was very easy. It usually just mattered how many punching bags you have. But DMC3/4 you had to kind of work to get SSS and keep your style up. In DmC you can get it instantly after demon dodge.
actually its probably much easier getting SSS in DMC4, all you have to do is use pandoras laser, overdrive, real impact, and the charge moves but of course people act like abusing the combat system in a DMC is something only DmC allows

It wasn't as DMC 3 that's for sure
fair enough, how about compared to DMC4? i thought that game had a very good balance of difficulty and fairness. if you messed you would get eaten alive and if you were on point you would dominate, thats the way difficulty should be.

With regards to the boss fights you could also say that in DmC the bosses have an entire mission to themselves which takes away from mission content.

Backtracking, I'll give you that but it's only for 5 missions which almost makes up for the boss missions in DmC however the areas are "fairly" different and you have a new character to play with. Personally if I didn't get a chance to face all the same bosses with Dante I'd of been dissapointed. We all know how much it sucks to have to play BP to fight Credo.

The Blade Gyro should never be defended and is just terrible, but I also think the same about DmCs pull this box jump this gap etc while they have nice scenery they are constantly the same thing whereas DMC4 had different "styles" to it's padding.

I'm not trying to say one's better than the other but they are both guilty of some flaws that take from the experience. Especially on multiple playthroughs.

I agree with you . It's just that, from my observation, DMC4 has far more padding than DmC.

Fair point, I haven't watched the entire playthrough yet so shouldn't really have said, just going on what I'd seen. :)

I take it you have seen the whole thing, what was your fav mission to watch?

I love Mission 15-The trade due to its cinematic flair. Vergil also did something really bad in that mission and it seems like that mission is getting a lot of dislikes. I really wished they had made the mission longer. It was too damned short.

I've seen that one and I agree on length and what Vergil did. Though personally the thing that Vergil did really didn't settle too well with me, but let's not get into that.

The first mission to me has been the one that's stood out most.

Oh! The first mission is my second most favorite mission. It's like those movies that start with a bang as it leaves a pretty good first impression.
