i prefer 2010 to 2012 dante in every way. Now he's cracking jokes like the previous ****s. Prefered the angry,beat up,smoking,druggy,psychopathic-emo not this generic pretty face of gaming. Prefered the short coat of 2010... Thanks a lot dmc fans,thanks for f'ing up a game with great potential cos frankly i don't see any plausible character development in this dante the FANS have created. Back at 2010 and according to tameem dante was gonna go from angry-kid to cool-demon hunter. Now(thanks to FANS) he's gonna go from blank shallow minded-kid(he doesn't seem angry in the least) to idiotic clown.
Gameplay looks great. Just hoping for more weapons(12-melee weapons and 4-guns would be nice).
Level designs are beautiful,the changing world is amazing and the graphics and visuals look great. Most of all i LOVE the HUD...

Let me translate this: You are mad because fans got what they wanted, you just insulted BOTH original and DMC3 Dante (who in my opinion was pretty cool) and think the entire game is now bad because of a change in the main character.
Because really, when the majority of the fanbase decides "this is better", they only ruined it for you, when he is an angry beat up emo (According to most opinions on the TGS 2010 matter), they ruined it for millions of people, you decide which one is worth more money, and I think 1 million opinions outdoes 1 opinion
EDIT: I realized after I had posted this that this message may seem a bit harsh, please note I mean no offense towards Dantino.
I wasn't even planning on buying this game in the first place

What we've seen so far describes new Dante as violent and anti, just as much as the first trailer did. The looks changed, but not the attitude. Yes, they made him more palatable to the old guard, but they didn't make old Dante out of him. Not completely, at least.
I like him the way he is for now: brooding, randomly cruel and violent, but uncaring about it. Just like a super-powered abuse victim should be, imho.

It's not mainly the looks,it's the jokes. He's acting like the old **** which is ef'd up. Most of what he did in the public enemy trailer is what a typical capcom dante would have done(minus the finger part). The closer it is to the older games the more dissapointed I am... Cos this was meant to be different.

He acts like old Dante, when it's cool and acts like new Dante, when it's appropriate. I think they found the right spot between idiotic and honestly badass. I didn't like this guy at first, either, but then I found, that for now the portioning of wiseass and extremely violent punk turned out pretty chill.
He's not as bad as DMC4-Dante for now.

This is supposed to be a game of how dante went from serious angry inexperienced kid to non-chalant totally badass wisecracking demon hunter.

Serious angry inexpierienced kid? to me in that first trailer he felt like,
"Whiny, youngin, Kratos Rip-off"
Really, There was a reason people boycotted TGS2010, Back then New Dante looked like just another Kratos Rip off.
DMC Dante at least was an ORIGINAL character, so that in my opinion is why they changed him to fit DMC Dante.

And his attitude was "Angry, brutal, me kill things" back in TGS 2010, which = Kratos Rip off,
Now he seems like he actually will have a character instead of whining throughout the game, because that was highly expected due to the first trailer.

It wouldn't matter how new Dante acted at all. If he was like the 2010 version, he's still end up like the 2012 version because that's what NT was going for from the beginning. They just did that trailer to make him look like a threat, cause let's face it, he doesn't look all that threatening if he started out with the 2012 attitude. If he did have the 2010 attitude, then the game would feel like DMC2; a hardly talking Dante and a darker attitude that seems non-exsistent. But I don't know, I guess that's what you prefer.

Hopefully, they'll be able to maintain that balance and not veer off into the cheese/camp category that plagued the previous games.

DMC2 Dante was just....nonexistent. Totally different from the previous Dante and just spoke in monotone. 2010 Dante was serious but in a good way. But who was the previous voice/motion capture actor? It wasn't Tim Philips voice, that's for sure. I think Dante starts out 2012, goes to 2010 in the middle when all hope is lost...then finally puts on the red jacket has his hair change color when he realizes his full potential. That's what I thought would happen anyway.
