How does DmC look between 10' and 12'?

I in fact liked the TGS Dante...I know it's weird but he looked more evil and I thought he is bound to make a change in the series.
If he was to blow up factories and politicians and news reporters I would believe it.
But the new one looks...well...sort of nicer you know.(darn it DMC fans! why request the change?)

I in a sense say that 2010 Dante was better because Ninja Theory were telling their story of how DMC was going to be in their eyes and the way Dante looked...he looked like hes seen hell for a young angst teenager....the way the trailer show his personality as being a serious mature tone with that trailer...but like Ninja Theory has to mess up everything...they gave up their..."Mature and serious" story to half assed a wanna be copy of DMC 3 Dante....just so the game can be liked....they even changed the story to accomodate the fans that did not like the game...in other words...they thought they were awesome by doing this but seeing the fan reaction they caved in and decided to half ass copy other crap
I totally agree with you. Now, Dante's cocky personality is very unrealistic given his early years experiences of being tortured. I came to support DmC because of the very first new Dante. His personality fits story environment much better than the current polished version.

it is nicer but nicer in a shallow way.

The old Dante was shallow as well.

Which old Dante? DMC 1 Dante wasn't all that shallow. DMC 2 was dark so it came with his personality. DMC 3 and 4 were the shallow ones.

This Dante, on the other hand, just seems to be a jack@$$ all around. He goes up to a guy and smacks his drink out of his hand with the justification that it'll "kill" him. One- liners are one thing, but this is just outright rudeness. Not to mention his comment on the church he broke out of, like that was necessary, or even the fact that he attracts attention himself despite his superior telling him not to do so.

I agree, if Dante was a shallow person he wouldn't hunt demons, he'd use his demonic powers for more selfish reasons like money, power and control.

Still on with the "original Dante VS new Dante" discussion? Dante is awesome no matter his incarnation, imo. ^^
No one needs to choose between them, you can like both if you want, but if you only like one of them, then there's no need to talk down to people who like the other Dante. Just accept that people like different things.

His personality in Captivate 2012 is really shallow and very unrealistic.
Now he looks like DMC3's Dante indeed, which doesn't add anything new to his personality. >_<

Hopefully he matures, like the old Dante. Maybe later, if he is tortured in say, the middle of the game, it could change him and his personality. I'm gonna go against what I said earlier, the old and new Dante is not shallow. He just has an ego.
He hit the can out of that guy's hand because he's on his way to destroy the Virility factory that makes that soda.

I have the same feeling. Although 2012 Dante looks much better, he seems to a very shallow person. And i do think Dante, as growing up as an outcast, is more likely to be the way in 2010 trailer. I feel NT was originally on the right track to develop Dante's personality in 2010, but now they seem to bend under fan's pressure. Dante's personality is unrealistic in the latest trailer, although he looks much better. Plus the sexual theme (bra..), i am really not satisfied with current stage of character development.
Actually...not all outcasts are dark and brooding like 2010 neoDante (and like DMC 2 Dante). I consider my self a bit of an outcast because of my childhood and the way I act and my antics, but I'm not 'emo' in any way. A lot of "outcasts" are sarcastic and actually kind of funny. There are different ways to show anti-socialism besides the brooding archetype. I like how sarcastic and douchebaggy Dante is now because it shows a different, more lighthearted take than what many people may think.
Now, the sexual theme...have you ever considered this could mean more than 'he just likes women'? He could be doing this to...I don't know...fill in a void that could come from his being an outcast and what not...
There is also the theme of Dante growing up to become the master demon hunter we knew, too...

If anything, I think Dante's cockiness is a mask to hide his anger and sadiness. Hiding what he was back in the 2010 trailer, like masking or hiding your emotions so people won't worry about you. And the rudiness is because he was raised by being tortured by demons. He needed to man up and be aggressive to tourture those demons back and get revenge, not be all cool about it and try to look good. If someone messed with me my whole life, I'm so not gonna worry about what expensive coat I should wear. When passing that fat dude in the demo, he wasn't gonna pass him while smirking and say, "Loose some wait there, big guy." No. He needed to be aggressive and make that fat ass loose weight, by knocking the can out of his hand and just be straight up to say, "It'll kill you."

It's pretty wierd how people say "New Dante(Izaya as I call him) is too serious and the game will never pass as a DMC at all!" But then Captivate comes around and people are like "He's too much like DMC3 and NT are copying DMC3!" What do you want, fans?! You wanted DmC to be more like DMC, now that it is, they still complain?

That's what I said. They'll get angry about anything. It's very immature and poorly argued. It's because of the hair, they're still mad about that, and will look for every way they nit pick the game.

Your analysis convinces me. I like Dante in TGS2010 trailer very much, however the current change of personality makes me feel uncomfortable. Now he doesn't have too many characteristic traits that makes him distinct from old ones.

I never realized there were so many people who wanted the new Dante to be so different from the original Dante. O.o
I like how Dante's personality have shown to be alot like his DMC3 self (my favourite version of him), but I would also like to see more of the dark side of him. Everyone have two sides, no one is one-dimensional, yin-yang and all that stuff.

Hopefully they'll be able to work both versions into the game, making for a truly multifaceted character. But I doubt that will happen.

The fans don't wouldn't want that, 'CAUSE IT'S NOT "REAL" DMC AND THEREFORE NOT WORTH EXPLORING LOL! *sarcasm*

The fans truly have ruined this game, and now I'm going to go and hit my head against the desk until I pass out or (hopefully) die.

"Fans"
That also include all of us in this forum.
Yes,we fans can ruin a game but at the same time,we can make it back or make it successful.

You know what I mean, Sieghart. The fans who consider only themselves as the fans and who troll us because we aren't the real fans and therefore could never be true fans in series that can only be appreciated by real fans.
