Yeah, Dante is more Dante this time around. I like him.

By the way, did anyone notice that in one of the new screens he's fighting what looks like one of those new flying enemies, but it has horns and a jack o' lantern face and an overall more demonic aspect? I'm not sure what to think about that; so what if more enemies are just reskinned and used over and over again rather than giving us variety?

perhaps these are just enemies in the beginning levels. that i wouldn't mind because if they give us a big variety of enemies and reskins of other enemies for different areas it could be pretty neat.

4chan, telling the truth?

As long as they don't post it as anonymous, it can be legitimate, m00t actually is a pretty nice guy, who isn't into furry fetish as clearly shown by the April Furs Day Massacre.
4chan isn't always what you think it is.

Although it looked like the person playing looked liked he was very familiar with the controls and that the character might have been powered up a bit i still hope the amp up the difficulty a lil bit more. Also im surprised they didnt show off the DT this time around, i figured that NT would wanna show the complete version of it. But overall i liked what i saw :)
Yeah I totally agree. I want to see some of his taunts though. I mean he said some stuff already, I just want to hear him say more.

I absolutely love the different things he says and does when dispatching the cameras. Especially the baseball bat rebellion "HA, haaah"! The can hitting. Getting dressed. Flipping the bird at the news anchor. Wild partying nights. Calling his guns 'girls'. The church quip and smile as he swaggers away. This Dante, once thought of as quiet and stoic, is oozing personalty.

And on top of all that bad assness, he can be serious when the situation needs it, the old Dante would probably say something like "**** YOU LOLOLOLOLOL" when Kat said "I'm not safe here", but this Dante is not a douchebag, just a badass, so he knows when to stfu and just says "then go"

I think that's why everyone is so butt hurt over the new trailer. They say things like "I thought Ninja Theory was going to make him different. They were defending their own style. It seems they just want to copy the old Dante." What they don't realize is that would be true if that was all there was to the new Dante. Like any decent character, he is multidimensional. The old Dante was pretty much Just crazy over the top cheese with no off switch.

And this kids, is the stupid part about defending this game Old Dante wouldn't have said "F*** u", he probably would've said something along the lines "Aw, okay but the party isn't gonna be the same without ya" to lighten up the mood for himself.
Yes Old Dante was a bit of an asshole, but all in all not taking his job seriously was the only thing, he was powerful enough to know what he was going to live through, and he kept his cool and liked to troll his opponents, is that really so bad?

^ Yes. That gets old after a while.
But that wasn't him being an asshole, that was his character, it's like hating on the Pyro (whom along with the scout I also have a lot in common with, mainly mental insanity and a love for fire) for speaking muffled, It wasn't Dante being an ass, he never straight up said F*** you to any of the characters like you guys are accusing him of, He hit on Lady (and she played hard to get) , He cooperated with Trish (and she double crossed both him and Mundus), He toyed with Nero (who whined like a little bitch), and He barely interacted with Lucia

Which would be fine if his character were consistent. But Capcom wrote themselves into a corner when they made DMC4 Dante like his DMC3 persona since in DMC1, he kept his cool except when Mundus killed off his minions.

I'll agree he was a dick in 4 but really in the others, he was a good character, but I'm just saying the one liners were part of his character.

Wow, people have a very, very low opinion of Dante. We've seen a total of a minuteof this new D and sudenly he's superior in every way, not an asshole, and for some reason we know he's a nicer person who 'cares' about this stranger next to him? Where is all of this comming from? Since when is Dante an asshole who doesn't care if others get hurt? And why is everyone reacting so possitibly to the idea that he was in a drunken threesome? I thought that was a stupid idea to make him look cool and suave. I mean, really? There are too many 'check out how cool I am' moments that just make mo go blah.

Their take on Western appeal seems to be working.

Oh, c'mon, now. Dante's lines were never that clever. At most he would have said the same types of things he said to Trish in DMC 4 when he told her to scram.

I still think Old Dante is better, `

'Cause in this trailer he's reminiscent of DMC3 Dante. Only without the cheesy lines and the woo-hoos. It's the nostalgia talking. Are you upset about it?

I don't really get the points that are being tossed around in here:
One part of the forums says new Dante is awesome, because he has that rebellious attitude, gets chicks and generally rocks.
The second part says old Dante is awesome, because he had that self-assured attitude, got chicks and generally rocked.

How does one intersect with the other? It's not like I'm intently rubbing in your face, that I prefer the new take on Dante (though sometimes I tend to hate on old Dante hard) and it's also not like you have to care about it either...?
