Game of the year? Game of the Year.

in DMC3, you kill an enemy named beowulf, you get a weapon named beowulf. Kill nevan, get nevan, cerberus gets you cerberus. So on and so forth. Makes perfect sense! But then DMC4, killing bael gives you pandora? echidna gives you gilgamesh? berial gives you lucifer?
I've heard a reason for that. It turns out that those were Devil Arms he already had, which were stolen by The Order of the Sword to power their synthetic Hell Gates. Beating the demons that came out of those gates got Dante his Devil Arms back.

What the hell are you talking about????????? I can follow a thread without replying to it.

I made this statement before you went ahead claiming that you thought I held the game's current info as great and unique.
And btw I first replied with that you where out of the loop on things and that you where unbased. Then you started to explain and then I replied with the above in which you started with the whole "you think the plot is so deep" to my words.

Seriously, what the hell. It's not a private message. It's open for everyone to reply to.

EDIT: wow, what a fallacy you've constructed for yourself.

Enjoy your stay in Limbo, chum.
I've come to realize the kind of person you are on the internet, so I don't think I'll be addressing you with words anymore, there's no point

Yeah, that was a weird response. Probably got mixed up in the deluge this topic went through.

Oh, great. I'm sensing another Asmodaus and Cooldemon vibe against two particular members in this thread.
actually, you could help things a bunch if you explained to me how to block someone. I don't think anything constructive will happen if we're allowed to actually talk to each other, but I can't seem to find the button...

I'm sure you two can talk it out. You're both adults.

found it!

I've tried that in the past, on other occasions, with other people, and there are some things on the internet that I just don't believe to be possible, or worth the trouble. I've never spoken to this person before now, and I don't think I will in the future, so nothing's really lost here

sometimes I wonder what the plot of DMC4 would have been like if it hadn't been absurdly rushed and they were forced to cut the game in half. I mean, they did a good job concealing the fact that they lost like an entire year of dev time, but then I started noticing weird things...

Dante was originally intended to go through an entirely different section of the game unique to himself, battling through hell instead of running around backtracking nero's steps. If this original story had held, nero might not have been chasing dante at all, so I have to wonder what that metaphorical rabbit for him to chase would have been?

Dante was taking the Devil Arms that were powering the Hell Gates, not getting a Devil Arm from the bosses themselves. Look back and notice how the energy shots that give him the new weapon are coming from a pedestal next to the Hell Gate, and not the dying boss. I thought it was odd at first seeing the weapon names, and then the boss names, but...it all made sense in context >.<

In the plot, Lady mentions that the Order of the Sword has been collecting Devil Arms, and it turns out it was for the purpose of using the Devil Arms' magic to power the Hell Gates and their experiments.

I didn't read the entire thread because of how repetitive it is. But, Kam, since you mentioned stripping down Queen of the Damned to its simplest terms, here we go.

Man is seduced by beautiful woman.
Man becomes an idiot and refuses to see she is using him.
Man's friends open his eyes.
Man and friends gang up on woman to stop her.

See? And I stopped reading Anne Rice because her books just became boring to me. They became predictable. I did read Queen of the Damned, and even some of that came off as stupid to me. The movie I was amazed I could stand because of how bad it was.

As far as I'm concerned, you're missing the best parts of DmC. And if Anne Rice is your favorite author, you're missing other things too. I was once told I shouldn't read her books because she writes for Playboy, which shows you her main focus on her books. She's just like every other female author that thinks making things sexual is writing a great story.

And the token-hot-women you mentioned are there for a romance factor in movies. That's not what Kat is there for, there is no romance in DmC. That happens to be why I like it, actually. She's not a love story, she's there to actually help and fight for what she believes. There's something you missed.

So, before you go stripping a story, that hasn't been told in its entirety, down to the extreme basics, look at what's going on. Don't think about cliches, look at the events that are being shown. That's what matters most. Even a cliche can still touch a person.

Yeah, I'm going to need this entire folder.
these aren't mine, they're being made by a trip in a /vg/ general on 4chan. I haven't been saving all of them, but he recently started playing around with orbs. He's got youtube videos now, so you don't even have to brave the depths of 4chan if you really don't want to.

speaking of /vg/, a new cuhrayzee general just went up. The modder behind these pictures hasn't posted much yet, but you're all welcome to participate in the conversation. For those that are worried, /vg/ is much better moderated, and the cuhrayzee general particularly is known for being well mannered, so you don't have to worry about any horrifying 4chan things happening here. Just try not to bring up the DmC reboot too much, since the majority of posters there are not fans

I have a question for you. Do you even like this game? With how you're talking about the story, it sounds like you're anti-DmC and are trying to **** people off.
