However I'm liking the whole scaly look though....

The scaly look was there even in DMC3, although obviously not so evident due to less definition and detail.

@Wajpa yeah you're right he is in his Yamato/Force Edge form in that picture... that's the FE Stinger LOL my bad.

If that artwork is any indication, one that Berial was referring to in his "You are just like he was." to Nero was indeed Vergil. Assuming that Vergil's campaign is canon. I also like how Vergil's DT changes form depending on the weapon equipped.

And I just remembered how DMC 4 allows you to see texture of material that clothes are made of, even pores on characters' faces, while still running seamlessly even on relatively old configurations. That's what I call good optimization.

New move revealed, kind of a Summoned Swords rain.

Really cool, so they did witheld some new moves by not showing them in the trailer. This brings my hopes up for Lady and Trish as well.

Yeah, I think we have plenty of reason to have hope for Trish and Lady's movesets if they're still showing new moves for the main attraction, Vergil. From what I could see in the trailer, I assumed that if we had most of Vergil's previous moveset, there wasn't much room for anything aside from what we were shown.

With Lady and Trish, there's not a lot to go off of in the first place, so the majority of their movesets are entirely unknown to us. We haven't even seen Trish use Sparda. Depending on button layouts, each of these characters could have an entire additional button for move variations we're not considering.

I assume trish's moves will be based off her DMC2 and marvel vs capcom movesets with some of dante's moves thrown in

Vergil's Stinger is faster than Dante's and has shorter range, but he can perform it in mid air.

Sadly, this is not true. Berial said ''when I came to this world 2000 years ago, there was no such human as the likes of you''. After that he says ''your arm! You are not human! You are just like he was.'' Berial hadn't been in the human world for 2000 years, so the person he's referring to is Sparda, who rebelled 2000 years ago. Hence why he says ''there was no such human as the likes of you (but there was a demon).
There is all kinds of symbolism in DMC4 that points to Nero being a modern-day Sparda. His story about becoming a demon and trying to hold onto Kyrie is basically Sparda and Eva in reverse (Sparda would sort of become human since he sealed his power in hell when he closed the hell gate).

Vergil doesn't get a new campaign. He's just a new character with which you can play DMC4's missions. There will be two new cutscenes: opening and ending. In those cutscenes, it will be explained what Vergil was doing in Fortuna around a year before DMC3. The DMC4 novel tells this story too, basically. From what we've seen in the teaser trailer, it looks like Vergil conceived Nero with a human woman (considering Nero is so weak and has no real DT).

The character models... I have to say I think they look rather bad. The DT looks pretty good, but for Vergil's regular form, it's like they took textures from the late PS2 era. His face looks pretty mannequin-like, and his hair doesn't seem detailed. But maybe what they showed was just an early render.

That is the sickest.

Though, that isn't to say Berial didn't encounter Vergil in the Demon World.

Ok here are the things I noticed in Vergil's gameplay:

1. He's got a move very similar to what Raiden does in MGR when you do Ninja Run and execute light attacks.

2. You can perform Judgement Cut in the air too.

3. I think I saw a Dance Macabre-like move, but he's got Million Stab at the very least for sure.

4. Summoned Swords absolutely wreck Blitz (even though they were playing on low difficulty, as always happens with demos).

5. You don't need full Concentration gauge to execute the fullscreen super move (even though I guess it gets more powerful with max gauge).

6. Rapid Slash in DT goes through Angelos' shields like Dante's Stinger.

7. I think I saw a move where he twirls a Summoned Sword over his head.

8. Beowulf can be charged.

9. Judgement Cut can be seemlessly chained right after any hit of a Yamato combo.

10. He's got the sprint as well.

Overall it looked friggin sick even if the guy playing wasn't particularly skilled at all.

I do hope you all realize this is Super Vergil. Super variants of DMC4 characters always use their unique gameplay abilities as if they were maximum (Dante unlimited royal gauge, chaos gauge, DT)(Nero with unlimited DT and Exceed). What you saw in today's gameplay video is Vergil with unlimited Devil Trigger and all of his special moves are powered as they would be with maximum "Concentration".

Look no further than RapidSlash, there is no way they would allow such Crowd control under normal circumstances, I expect a much more normal one at lower concentration. His DT in this gameplay video doesn't decrease, that one screen clearing move in the trailer was confirmed to only be usable at maximum concentration (the blue gauge above his health) whereas both uses in this gameplay were at about 2/3rds and they didn't even cost all concentration. The changing concentration gauge in the gameplay video was purely cosmetic.

The real Vergil will definitely be more balanced.
