Ever since I started to like new Dante (which took a while after 2010) I've wanted to see the old generation and new generation of Dante fight along side each other or even fight each other.

here is a lil theory of mine on the Sparda Eva Mundus situation. (now we know hes alive my minds been in overdrive)
now im not gonna bother with the whole angel demon war cuz weve all gone into that like a dozen times each or sommit so im gonna asume its fact and move on.
now i think Sparda and Eva are able to keep their relationship secret from mundus and the rest of the cumulative universe. but i think someone betrays sparda to mundus, phineas? bob? a jealous Lilith? unnamed demon A? and mundus naturally gets ultra ****ed that his most trusted general (and possible brother) Sparda went to live happily ever after with an angel AND left him in a zest pool of ****e ( im asuming Sparda and Eva ended the war somehow eg physically seperating the realms). so , mundus gathers EVERY LAST demon in limbo and marches them all onto Spardas front door. now normally a bunch of demons would be nothing to the great duo Sparda and Eva. but they have a weakness, two to be precise. Dante and Vergil. they cant be any older than 6 and nowhere close to fighting a demon or any sort of combat full stop. come on, there just kids.
as such Sparda takes the lead and defends the house so Eva can flee with the boys. Mundus, expecting this uses a collection of spells to tear away a chunk of spardas power, so perhaps his swords shatter or something. leaving to deal with hordes of demons more or less unarmed. eventually the sheer numbers overwhelm him, and at breaking point. He hears screams form inside the blazing house. he dives into the inferno to see Mundus standing over his dead wife and sees his sons in Danger. he charges heroically at Mundus but to no avail. he is beaten, chained and dragged to be held in his own isolated hell.
now while Sparda is fighting the hordes, Eva is doing her best also. killing demons here and there trying to keep her boys away from a painful and horrible demise or worse. but Mundus walks in, she sends the boys to hide but its no use. the demons are upon her. she tears them up but Mundus is too much. she cant risk going all out on him for fear of leavin Dante and Vergil prone to attack. so Mundus overpowers her. but not before she stabs him in the eye with ( i asume) a kick ass sword. ****ed and raging as **** Mundus snaps and tears her apart as her sons watch in horror. Dante runs away in fear and terror. while Vergil is left stunned.
as such Dante lived his life oppressed in one end of soceity while Vergil was left burdened at the other. until they met up in DmC of course.
now in the demo we see, when Vergil explains this, a bunch of angels trying to save Eva from mundus. screaming in horror...i think theyre more symbolic than real things. ie theyre Dante/Vergils innocence. but thats just one interpretation.
im just thinking, how awesome would it be if that moment was playable. the last battles of Sparda and Eva as they heroically try to save their sons. plus it would be the perfect place for this song.

I don't know, that sounds pretty lame to me.
Just my opinion of course, but it really does raise the question of wtf would this reboot have been for then?
Makes no sense to me to make a reboot that will eventually join up with the old continuity.
Defeats the purpose really.

Well it might not be that bad im mean it could be like a secret you could find placed in dlc later down the road. Original Dante wouldn't stay in the world just appear out of nowhere not knowing whats goin on but since he's Dante not really caring about what just happened since he realizes that demons are around and kills and new Dante could be caught in the crossfire and either fight or help after which DMC Dantes disappears back where he came from. Basically think of Asura's Wraith dlc where u fight Ryu and that other guy.

To address the possibly of Sparda being alive and imprisoned, I imagine that since Mundus was functionally immortal in the old franchise, that was carried over and applied to sparda given they may be blood brothers.

That's something worth noting - Mundus came to power over 9000 years ago. Those photos of him throughout different points in time doesn't put any truth to the whole "Mundus is a time traveler" stuff, just that he is, in fact, well over 9000 years old
