DmC originally was going to have lock on right?

ok then i apologize for assuming then.....however what is your opinion between DMC 4 and DmC combat depths, which one is deeper

I really have no opinion on the matter, because I think it honestly doesn't matter. Each game has things that it does well, and both have a fair amount of depth in their own right. At that point, who gives a sh!t which one is deeper, as long as people are having fun and have a lot of options to go nuts with?

I think what matters in regards to depth is reaching past a certain, like, tier of it. Like...if a game has more combat depth than DMC1 (which it had some, but it pales in comparison to all the sequels and games it spawned and inspired) it has a lot of potential, and just needs players to bring it out.

But, that's just me, and I rate games very differently from others.

DMC 4 has deeper combat then DmC.... DMC 4 has 72 moves compared to 54 moves of DmC

Bayonetta even has much more moves then both of those....

Just because one has more moves then the other doesn't mean a thing. If there was a contest between DMC4 vs Assassin's Creed 2, which do you think I'd play, me a person who likes a lot of scenery in my gameplay, an awesome story, and very well developed characters?

The number of moves don't mean jack squat if you don't like the game in general. I like DmC not only for its gameplay but for its Dante, it's story, its level design, and the style of the game itself. I only like DMC4 for its gameplay and that's it. And as I constantly tell people, for me gameplay isn't enough for me to enjoy a game.

Also the answer was Assassin's Creed 2.

Lotta good that does, since DmC's guns are so under powered

Last time I checked, DMC4's guns weren't exactly the most powerful P shooters I'd ever seen. DMC4 Dante's guns were extremely slow, had way slower cool down times, and compared to DMC3, DMC4 Dante was slower with not only his guns, but also his attack speed.

the guns may not be powerful, but what they lack in power, they make up for in keeping enemies in the air for more combo attacks, canceling mechanics, and finishing explosions.

it's a combo thing us comboing crazy gamers enjoy.

People dont have to get so personal when trying to make their points, just makes people totally disregard the point they are trying to make and only pay attention to the insults. Gets no-one anywhere fast and throws the threads into chaos.

you can tell twoxacross never played DMC 4 if he actually thinks DmC has a deeper combat system

Warning added for flame baiting yet again and singling out members by name in threads.

It would seem so:

I'm also curious as to what the hell overdrive is. I'm assuming it's not the move because DMC3 and 4 didn't have an OD in the .ini file.

Overdrive is in dmc4 and it us a charge move where Dante draws the sword behind him charges it with demonic energy and then releases it in a wave of energy followed by two more swipes wit two more waves it has two levels of charge that sends out 3 waves of energy from the sword they are filled with red demonic energy I find them to be more damaging and powerful in DMC4 but more useful in DmC but that's just to me Sam lol :) :D

I would call myself a "DMC veteran" as well and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to get used to DmC's version of lock on which is............................. just facing a different direction.

The argument opposing that would be the moves you can do while locked on to a single enemy. Like <-- Attack lets you launch and --> Attack lets you use stinger....

Hmm...not much of an argument.

I like not being restricted to a single enemy because I've played around alot with that scythe launching like 7 enemies up in the air at once and the kablooey can make dropping demons like dropping bombs.

I like being very unorthodox with my combos. Seeing how creative I can get.
