i think it might be shelfed and they would return to it, if they think it has a chance to succeed or some up and comer game developer thinks that he or she can make it succed.
if this fails it might be the end of NT.

They haven't really ruined it. The new Devil May Cry is a spin-off, won't you say? It's not part of the main canon from Devil May Cry 1-4, but a whole new story that just shares the same title and happens in some sort of parallel universe. Kinda like what I said about Megaman, if you read that post. Megaman, Megaman X and Megaman Zero are part of the main canon timeline, but games like Megaman Legends and Megaman.EXE had each their own storylines. It is basically the same with the new Devil May Cry.
That's why I want this new Devil May Cry to succeed, because then Capcom might want to run both series individually, like they did in the past with Megaman. It might sound unlikely, especially because Capcom have shown to be some greedy b@stards recently, but with enough support from the fanbase, it could happen!

As a fan i rather see Dante from DMC die and DmC Dante go on. Afterall good things must die someday, and i rather see him go down and rest in peace along with many other amazing characters.They haven't really ruined it. 10 years from now Gaming industry have become used to making a new trend called "parallel universes" like how they are rebooting games like Hollywood does with movies.
"Parallel universes" is a term used to allow a game company to make more versions of a popular game. And then we will see "Assassins", a parallel to AC, "Kratos" parallel to God of War and more.
And game companies will hopefully by then have people under their belt that are parallel universe researchers:
"Our scientists says that there can be more than one parlallel universe. Therefor we want to make the parlallel of X game".

Considering the fact that you have bashed alot of DmC supporters around the forum for liking this new Dante and even went so far as to call them "None fans" of the original Dante.
Now your saying you want the old Dante to die and the new one to go on?
Just seems a bit off not to mention contradictory to your attitude around the forum when you first got here.
As a fan myself I like my gaming icons to be immortal.

Just like Samus
Just like Link
Sorry but I guess I just hold the original Dante in a higher regard than others.

Ezio/Altair from Assassin's Creed have also become an iconic character. Ryu from Street Fighter is one of Capcom's front figures. Scorpion from Mortal Kombat is also very iconic and I would be surprised if there was a gamer who wouldn't recognise the phrase 'Get over here!'.
Dante is timeless to me. I would rather that Capcom just stopped the series than actually making a game where Dante is permanently killed in.

I didn't forget Kratos.
In my eyes he is not a long standing Icon like the ones I listed who are all over 15 years old.
kratos hasn't even been out a full 10 years yet and to be honest I'm really not that big of a fan of his.

as far as i can say gaming icon means atleast 10 years not 15
we just call him 'donte' to differentiate him from real dante

Than why did you say "I forgot Kratos"?
They are both called Dante. If you have two friends called by the same name, would you refuse to accept that one of them has that name? Nick names is a good way to know the difference, but when the nick name is 'donte' it is just plain childish. The name 'donte' come from the word "don't" made up by the fans who refuse to accept the new Dante. It is a name made out of spite and that's why I think it is childish. At least try and be more creative.

I replied that I did not because I did not view him as a gaming icon.
