No, Tameem has specifically mention that the whole Limbo aspect and the hidden messages is based off of "They Live", where the main character see the true messages in magazine and what people are infact possessed by aliens, because it's one of the favorite movies of the dev team, NOT that horrible butchered film Constentine.
