DmC InsideXbox Interview

Yeah, they are just misleading people with this "Donte and Robollion" thing....
I started calling DmC character for Donte again after calling him for Dante a big while. In beginning i called him Donte, then Chocolate asked me to show respect and call him Dante, which i did after a huge discussion with people where we ended up concluding that DmC Dante is a Dante not THE.

But i read people often writing about DmC Dante as if it's the same guy.
And that's when i decided to call him Donte again.

Whauw, you guys even listen to yourselves? You just sound ridiculous and childish now, making up such stupid nicknames, just because you don't like it. I mean, come on, how old are you guys?

Why does it bother you so much?

Let then call him Donte.

From what I understand, they use it as a way to distinguish this Dante from the original which is understandable if they are using it for that purpose.

Or maybe we should call the original Dante A and the new Dante B lol.

But yea, I see it as no big deal...

He is called Dante.
People can write about him as Dante, original Dante isn't the only one with that name.
I can't forbid you to do that...but it's a fact you're doing a mistake.

but it's a fact you're doing a mistake.

Like I said above.

I see nothing wrong with them wanting to distinguish the 2 by giving this Dante a different name so people know who they are talking about.

Its like on a Spider man forum. If you start posting about Spiderman people are going to get pretty confused unless you make sure to elaborate that you are referring to Ultimate,Amazing, or Noir Spider man.

Although there obviously is not as many Dantes as Spider mans they still are 2 different characters who share the same name.

There is many game shows, magazines and sites who call DmC Dante the same as DMC Dante. So there is alot of misleading stuff around.
I don't like calling him Dante considering that it's not purely coincedence that he's called that, and who's behind him (Tameem Antoniades).

Then they could use names like "original Dante" and "new Dante" instead of making a spelling mistake which could mislead some people.
No one is calling spiderman spidermon and so on.

They do what is easier I guess.

Obviously replacing the "a" with "o" is alot easier than spelling out "original" and "new".

Huh?
Is it really that hard to spell that out, people are really getting lazy these days....

This is the internet....

Alot of people are lazy lol.

And you have to admit that its is ALOT easier to do it as Donte instead of new or original Dante.

But hey, atleast they are not calling him "dino" anymore...

Calling someone something else, making such bad nicknames, because they don't like the character or person is childish and moronic. I don't go call people I don't like on here for bad nicknames, I call them by their chosen usernames, maybe at times shortening it down if it is a long username. However, I wouldn't call CoolDemon for CrapDemon or something like that, because it is just not okay. (Not that I dislike you, CoolDemon, just making an example. ^^ )

I haven't called anyone anything. Not even Tameem Antoniades who i by the way do not like.
For whatever reasons i call DmC character for Donte i will keep on doing that. It's not like there is ANYTHING being done to how game shows, magazines and sites portraying DmC Dante as DMC Dante when they aren't the same because of various reasons.

Your example is flawed and here's why.

They are not calling this Dante anything bad.

They are not calling him crap Dante or anything like that. They replaced the "a" with a "o" which really is only a minor name alteration and is no big deal.

Why are you taking it so seriously?

Your acting as if they are talking bad about something dear to your heart...

From what I have seen, Cooldemon pointed out he is only using it as a way to distinguish the 2. He did not call him crapDante or any other offensive.

Now if they where still calling him "Dino" THAN you would have a reasonable argument since DINO stands for "Dante in name only".

But that is not the case here...

Dino is actually not negative. It's just another way of saying "This is not the Dante we know".

Different ways of looking at it I suppose.

Because around the net I have seen people use it in a way to say that This guy is not Dante AT ALL and is just a poser wannabe.

That in itself is negative IMO.

I'm really not a fan of this new direction either but I simply can't ignore that "Dino" may have been created as a way to downlplay this new Dante character.

his name is dante not donte not dino...dante. if noone can get back on topic, i will ask the mods to just close down this thread.

Do what you want dude.

Your the OP after all...

I'm was just trying to convey to you guys that it is not as big of a deal as you may think. Its a minor name alteration for them to distinguish the 2.

My advice is to either get over it or ignore it.

That way discussions like these do not come up as well as "Thread Derailments".
