DmC InsideXbox Interview

Not sure if there are any clear pics.

But some of the trailers shows many back shots of this Dante walking around with clear views of the entire sword.
Yes, just wathched those trailers, thanks.
Looks too normal IMO, nothing special about it.
I would like to see something like mixture of old rebellion and this new one.
Maybe throughout the game it awakens its true power like chocolatepanda said.

Yea just found a trailer that gives good looks at the sword

You really get a good look at it at 0:54.

And it does look to "normal/weird", especially when you factor in how badazz the original rebellion looked.

I just wish NT or Capcom could have atleast kept the core aspect of the sword alive the same way they did with Ebony and Ivory (2 twin pistols that a black and silver).

Or atleast call it something different than the rebellion since now people are going to measure it up against the iconic sword and in my honest opinion there is not contest which looks better.

It would have been nice for them to keep the skull and bone aspect but add a new "twist" to it.

But this sword just looks completely......."bland".

Maybe NT just thought it was "uncool" for a guy to carry a skull/bone themed sword.

Or maybe they thought it was to "japanessy".

It has already been established that the new Dante is not exactly the same as the original Dante, but is more of an alternate/parallel world version of the same character, right? Then why should it be any different with Rebellion and Ebony & Ivory? Would you be more accepting of this new Dante and the new Devil May Cry if the weapons looked more like their original counterparts? Would it change your views on the game?

Dante's new sword looks more organic which fits with its shapeshifting ability. It does look alot more simplistic and lighter than the original Rebellion and the blade is thinner, looking more like a broadsword than a zweihander. The original Rebellion was not Japanese looking, but this new sword is, imo. The original Rebellion looked alot more like a European medieval zweihander, being big and heavy, while the new sword with its lighter look fits more the weaponry used in old Asia.

He probably didn't mean "japanessy" like katana but strange, not ordinary, special sword.
I consider japanese people to exaggerate on most things (anime and that stuff).
It wouldn't change their views on the game probably.
On the other hand it woud be nice to see NT being consistent in desing rather than changing it with every trailer.
-They retained the core aspect of Ebony & Ivory and it would be alright if they did the same with Rebellion.

Subject64 basically covered what I meant but let me add on to it.

Its not like I was asking that they make the rebellion look EXACLTY like it did before.

And no, I would not be more accepting of this game if they looked more like their original counterparts.

It will take alot more than just changing weapons to make me accepting of this game.

What I was saying and what you seemed to have completely ignored is the fact that they kept the core aspect of Ebony and Ivory intact.

Would be it totally out of the realm for them to have done the same with the Rebellion?

After all, Ebony and Ivory do indeed look different in this game, but atleast people would still be able to identify that they are indeed Ebony and Ivory by looking at them.

Looking at this sword, many DMC fans would not even know that it was the rebellion.

I certainly had not clue until that link was posted.

This is all just my opinion on the matter.

Its ok that you think this rebellion is cool and like it.

I myself would probably be more accepting of it if it did not have the rebellion name tagged on to it.

Chocolatepanda said already that rebellion has always been changing forms due to Dantes new and stronger powers. If dante in DmC has little control or knowledge of his powers, I think his sword would look different aswell. Although this doesn't mean Dantes sword will completely change into a weapon resembling the rebellion sword we are familiar with, it does leave the window open for a change, while keeping some dmc dna intact.

I, for one, am unhappy with the new Rebellion's design. I thought the people who created something as beautiful and complex as the 'Heavenly sword' could come up with something more interesting and intimidating. The handle looks o.k, but it ends in this... blob. The rest is just uninspiring to me.

I can't believe we're discussing the look of the sword now....
The sword looks perfectly fine to me. The handle looks amorph and weird, just like a demonic weapon should. The blade is a slab of metal and I like how they didn't add a crossguard to symbolize his brawler's fighting attitude.
The old Rebellion looked cool, sure, but this one fits way better. The old one was too "massive".

Well the sword is a shapeshifting weapon so I'm thinking Dante changes the sword's look to be less conspicuous as walking around with old school rebellion would raise to many redflags.

But I wanna see them push the shapeshifting to it's limits and see what they can come up with. Just because it's western doesn't mean they can't have fun.

Im looking forward to the shapeshifting weapons because you cant just look at a weapon and know what its gonna change into. Also new weapon types look like they might make an appearance that we've never seen used in the DMC series so far we've seen an axe which is new and a scythe which is kinda new.

having it shapeshift into an assault rifle should get the game successful

Proof : Call of Duty being successful is enough

Here's a better look at the new rebellion. I love it!!!notice how the little holes close to the end of the handle are glowing red while the ones above are not.

I like it very much. Nice up-close shot there, Dantino.

The Aesir God of Thunder agrees.

It looks simple and light. I like the design, but it is quite different from the original Rebellion. Even more than new Dante is from the original Dante.

I like the design of the sword, i little weird...but good :)
Saw this picture(thanks for it Dantino) made me think: how the sword are stuck in his back? their jackets have a magnet?

"You don't fu@k with a god." Ok that was God awful... Not to mention lame. Dante's voice is terrible.
Did NT give the role to their own in view talent? I could've done a better job!! Now this may sound like a purest's "rantings" and well they are, but come on this is just BAD. Is this how the Western World views demons, and hell, and goth; and everything else demon related?
I don't care for the action because I can't get over this piece of trash NT is creating. Ok some folks might say that because of the new game play and it's new generation appeal that this game might sale well. More than likely that may well be indeed the case. But this is not Devil May Cry to me, and as a fan I'm disappointed.
This "Dante" is so different that I'm wondering how Capcom can call this "Dante" a reboot version of Dante. If anyone here is a Godzilla fan think of Godzilla. He is radio active transformed dinosaur that is so strong that he is pretty much a god. Now picture Zilla (the American Godzilla) he was SO different from his true Japanese counterpart that the "God" in his name was removed and he was "redubbed" "Zilla."
Same thing here, Classic Dante is (true Japanese) Godzilla while this modern "Dante" is (American) "Godzilla." Now I like Zilla but unless this "Dante" gets his butt beat by "real" Classic Dante I will not be happy with this Devil May Cry game. Blasphemy.
