DmC Game Preview HD [Story+Gameplay+Exclusive Trailer]

I'm saying that Dante could start off alot weaker than that, and I don't mean just physically. I would look to see where he gets that cockiness from. What exactly gives him the confidence to insult someone 5x his size? That kind of stuff is what I want to know and see.

I'm guessing the same thing that gave DMC3 Dante confidence to call Cerberus "fido" or "mutt."

He punched a 1200 year old Slerm Queen in the face and knocked her out. What else do you need?

I don't see that as strong. Why, just last week, I socked pokkoncho in the face.

No, I mean, who the heck is pokkoncho?
Oh, a pokkoncho is...

...Hey, have you noticed that this Dante has been kicking a lot of demon ass with his hands and feet but not as much with his swords and guns? Guess this one's a bit more phisycal.

The mystery of Pokkoncho shall never be solved.

Anyways, I'm assuming his hand- to- hand emphasis in combat is allusion to how Nero fights with his DB almost all the time.

or maybe dante will have his gauntlet type moves incorporated into his hand to hand combat?

well he's already got the volcano punch in his hand to hand arsenal. it's now called the demon stomp.
Hey better at least has some fist based weapons in this game sure he can uppercut, back kick, & stomp with his basic fighting style but they're somethings you need those badass DMC fist weapons to do like Gilgamesh & Beowulf.

hearing an anti-DmC rant in that voice was funny. the content of that rant was was probably the most inaccuate anti-DmC rant ever. most anti-DmC rants are based on actual traits of the game (even if some of them are just whining about minor changes like Dante's hair ) that could be considered flaws by some people. some of them are even reasonable complaints (just phrased in an unreasonable manner). this one claims that a game made by a company know for good stories is going to have a worse story than a series of games with badly written inconsistent stories based on a few story trailers that seem to show a significantly deeper story than previous Devil May Cry games.

I agree with Darkslayer13 here. While DmC might not hold up against other gaming giants, I'm sure it might be on par with 3 or 1 and better than 2,4, or the anime.

I do agree with her on DmC being considered a waste as it doesnt really give you anything new on the franchise and NT pulling of DMC5 would have been a bigger feather in their cap as revamping is harder to than rebooting.

Revamping require working with whats there while Rebooting is wiping the board clean and starting fresh.

Other than that, its a passable preview even if certain information like the ranking system is out of date.

You're referring to story right?

The term reboot is what you make it but this is what I got
"Through reboots, filmmakers can revamp and reinvigorate film series to attract new fans and stimulate revenue. Therefore, reboots can be seen as attempts to rescue series that have grown "stale".They can also be a "safe" project for a studio, as a reboot with an established fan base is less risky (in terms of expected profit) than an entirely original work, while at the same time allowing the studio to explore new demographics.
Reboots in comic books use time travel or reality warping to erase all continuity in a series and start over from the beginning.
Some reboots – known as "soft" reboots – incorporate stories from the previous continuity into the new one rather than erasing
them completely, while subjecting them to revision in order to fit them in."

yes but that doesnt invalidate what i said.

The series is still called Devil May Cry even if the m is lower case....the control scheme is altered around for this new Dante...an angel and demon mode wouldn't work for the past Dante unless if he hunted down angels too...but since DMC is about demon hunters...doubt it...and Bayonetta.......yeah......plus the overall control scheme is altered to be more like Heavenly Sword & Bayonetta rather than DMC(no lock-on, weapon modes, & etc).

Rebooting DMC is like rebooting a racing game...it will still be a racing game with rather similar mechanics even the God of War reboot will have the same feel/concept/similar controls of God of War(although that has co-op to it).

Plus a reboot is a fresh start and they start the series anew even resort to using the original concepts of it but see how they can redo them. They didn't just merely upgraded DMC's mechanics. They took as much as from the old DMC and streamlined them(like Nero's, Dante's, & even new mechanics) into one.

DmC is like an alternate DMC rather than a new game that is completely different from DMC.

Not entirely sure we are on the same page here.

I just said them continuing/fixing the old series would have been a bigger feather in their cap because it is the harder task than rebooting it.

I dont think its that hard to bring in angels or other creatures into mix given that Dante is a demon/monster hunter by trade. I'm pretty sure he's not gonna refuse a job hunting werewolves or something.

The world of DMC isnt developed and we have no knowledge of it so you could easily introduce Limbo city easily.

On topic- I'd suggest giving Dante a mission that requires his presence and a enemy that he is personally invested in bringing down.

...........................................................Yeah your right.......were not on the same page.

With 4 games in.....fixing up DMC's story seems a rather very difficult tasks and plus the original DMC team was busy with Dragon's Dogma and having NT continue the original storyline wouldn't be much of a bright idea.....they could've easily make an error or f-up big time.

Its like those comic book reboots....they're rebooted because the company wants to redo a series for any particular reason and usually hire a new author to retell the story to avoid it being like the previous plot line and defeating the purpose of the reboot.

The DMC is well rather developed...DMC1 introduced the overall mythos and concept, DMC2 added to it by including sorcerers, other demon kings, the Arcanas, the fact more devil hunters exist, and Dumary Island, DMC3 added more background to DMC1, and DMC4 well did what DMC2 did but introduced a new character.

Plus what can they do with DMC......like someone said..DMC1 was the middle, DMC2 was the end, and DMC3 was the beginning of Dante's story and any logic video game developer would've ended DMC there with DMC3 but Capcom didn't but they did do something smart like introduce a new character and focus on him instead(Nero & DMC4).

Reason why DMC2 was the end because by DMC2 Dante has become the legendary devil hunter and have surpassed his father(so says everyone else). Meaning a DMC about Dante after DMC2 wouldn't work cause Dante would be well too OP for the sake of the story unless if they want to bring in a stronger opponent like who can surpass Mundus and Argosax's power....Sparda??? DMC3 was Dante's origin stories of how he became the Devil Hunter of DMC1.

DMC1 Hideki Kamiya's prized work and original concept...okay maybe not original but the ground work was the starting ground and foundation for 2 & 3 for Dante's tale while 4 was more for Nero but due to fan demand we gotta add Dante into the mix.

Yeah the main reason why Capcom wanted the reboot was probably that they weren't proud of the direction of original DMC series and wanted to redo it but they still have intentions to continue the original series they started.

The main purpose of DmC is to like they said open up a new door so they can branch out the series.

Plus any future DMC game should be about Nero they introduced him and didn't even develop much about his background outside a hint he is connected to Sparda and his gameplay felt well incomplete like it was playing as DMC1/2 Dante.

Hence why it's the bigger feather in their cap and the more noteworthy success.

Rephrase paragraph please. Marvel and DC is tons more complex than DMC and Been around longer so if their writers could still keep it interesting and move forward than DMC has no excuse

We don't know about the world as a whole because we've only seen secluded areas or undescript locales. Can you tell what country or city Dante lives in?

The beauty of DMC3 was that it was like a pilot episode of a tv show and you could have just done more games that filled in the gap between 3 and 1.

You could have done a game with Dante in hell after 2 plus you still have angels or other mythologies to work thru.

DMC4 wasn't as smart as you think it was given you could have done a game with Dante as young rookie demon hunter. Or a prequel game with Vergil explaining what went down between the two.

I might be too late for this but...
