DmC Game Preview HD [Story+Gameplay+Exclusive Trailer]

I'm sorry but that is why it is called Video game DM! The characters are made to do things that are impossible for a normal human being. It is made to have FUN. Many games nowadays are missing that (FUN part) because they want the game to be like real life, seriously? So, you can't compare a video game character incident to a reality person's situation, especially when you're playing a HacknSlash game! Well, that's my opinion anyway. Hope you don't mind :)

I know that. I mean as in, the lines that Old Dante used, can't really be used in real life without a lot of people looking at you as if you're copying a saturday morning cartoon. In video games, One-liner away!^_^ (Which is what I do when I play video games)

Well, now I think it makes more sense

Well now… that’s certainly one opinion among many about DmC, the vid maker’s. I personally think this DmC will have bigger story than DMC1-4. And when that is mixed with the awesome gameplay, it’ll be just great. But… against the general opinion, I think the voice in this video is so thin and high-pitched that it’s annoying. It’s as if the girl tries her best to sound so cute or lovely that the voice holds no emotion in it anymore. :/

DmC: Good Story, Great Action, Horrible Lines!

Anyways, this video actually made me laugh when the girl started cussing. It's like listening to a Japanese girl cuss in English for the first time of her life.

lol she said bullshit so sweet and innocent that i couldn't tell if she was serious or not.

And its hard to tell whether or not the story is bullshit when the game hasn't really explained anything. As far as past DMC games stories go, lets just say DMC was never going to win any awards for its writing skills. And if your experienced with NT's previous work, you would know that their dialog is one of their strengths in story telling. Just because Dante is swearing up a storm really doesn't make the entire story bullshit. I actually like the way Kat and Lilith talk.

From a linguistic standpoint, they're not all that good. They are better than most, but not really amazing. So far, I'm no more impressed with DmC's dialogue than I am with any of their other work.

One of the things that makes a medium's dialogue good is its creativity. NT never really excelled in that department and they are not doing so now. Not that they're bad, but if they really want to be better in dialogue, each word has to have a certain amount of weight to it, as if each individual word had its own place in the grand scheme of the story and the meaning or value of the story would be loss if any other words were used.

Well i think HS was a very good game, not great because it lacked in replay value and the dial a combo would get old after your second playthrough. As for the presentation of the game, i thought it was by far the best out of all the new games that were released for the PS3. And the character animations were topped off with great dialog. I thought every boss in that game, (excluding the big goofy guy) made a huge impression on the story. They were all full of life. Had things on their minds besides the main plot, and just all around fun characters to watch. For Enslaved, i thought the two characters had moments in the game that i've never seen before in gaming and none of the moments were involved with action. It was just the two characters and the situation they were in, and listening to them speak. It was the only reason why i could finish the game. I didn't say NT were the masters of Story telling, but i am saying they have far better writers than anyone who worked on previous DMC games.

i bet your voice is like Koreans because you got experience in asian voices,
your'e probably jealous because she's the best game reviewer in the world and she got the cutest voice ever!!

Yeah, I gotta agree. The way they talked to each other seemed...right. As if these characters were real people that you could actually talk to. Their voices sounded natural and not all anime reharsed. That was one of things I liked about Enslaved, that the way the world and characters looked.

im not the one talking, im the one who wrote the script of the preview (what she said) and im the video editor, we are a team on youtube,
we have a channel for game reviews feel free to check it out.

If it's a review, shouldn't it be done after the game comes out? I mean, you can't give a review to a game that's not out yet, nor can you call a story bullshit if you don't even know what the story is. I understand the hate for it, but you can't say it's bad simply from the little that's been seen. For example, I didn't like the idea of the alternate version of the Dragonball series, "Dragonball Evolution" but I at least looked at the movie before I called it bullshit. (That movie and DmC are different though)

The way they did there work was definitely something new, but the work itself was nothing new to me. DmC, so far, is well- presented and that's what I'm betting on as its strength, just like HS and Enslaved, but it's story isn't all that unique.

TC clearly stated that it's a preview, though.

That's what I was saying.
Uniqueness in video game based by story is rather hard or rare to find nowadays(even apply for gameplay) plus when its a reboot about a game series that never had much originality or uniqueness & its mostly an overused plot we've all seen everywhere(maybe not DMC4) I doubt its reboot can come out much differently but DMC's story didn't win by originality or uniqueness it mostly won by execution. It did stuff we already saw different & interesting & pretty well.....but has its stupid moments(DMC4) & cliche moments(ALL OF THEM).

Especially when NT have to make a game that feels like DmC(or close) in every aspect.

As long as this game's story can avoid what other DMC games story did wrong(DMC1 was overused cliche lines....okay maybe not Flock Off Feather Face...& its not just lines like Dante's & his lol moments but it was overall story dialogue...everything sounded cliche not cheesy but cliche or corny & the writing was something even M Night Shalamalam or Micheal Bay can write its so basic out of the 4 games & sure it has its awesome moments like Dante blasting Mundus & its sad moments like Dante realizing Nelo Angelo was his lost twin brother & he just killed him...but anyone can do those, DMC2 was lack of dialogue....I thought it had a better story than DMC1 but the lack of dialogue ruined it....it was built on a better premise than DMC1 & overall script sounded better filled with more emotion & cinematic moments but lack of dialogue & even poor dialogue killed it, DMC3 had no problems it was the best story & was pretty good not the best but still pretty damn good but its only problem was the **** poor Vergil story mode.....no story just 2 opening cutscenes but DmC don't have to deal with that unless if they're is a Vergil Mode in that too wait no it has a problem 75% of his overall plot came from Inuyasha but its not really a problem, DMC4 being better than 1 & 2 its problem was that he caused more questions rather than answered them at least DMC3 answered questions & brought up some new facts DMC4 just brought up that Sparda did some more sh*t between kicking Mundus's ass & fathering 2 twin sons).

Uniqueness and Originality are too different things. If you're going to do something, uniqueness is how you are doing it, original is what exactly you are doing.

So I'm not expect DmC to be original, by far no, but I would expect it to be more unique and go through routes that other stories of the same type haven't traveled. The Man is a demon and Society is full of subliminal messages, we get it, but DmC could've taken a more subtle approach. What makes it worse is that they had to add the angry punk teen as a character basis, like that didn't make the theme of the story any more obvious.

As for DMC, it wasn't original in the least, but it was still pretty unique on its own. Dante's character gave it a different flavor despite it being a basic supernatural action- thriller story.

He acted like Naruto in DMC3 mixed with Inuyasha's colors. Didn't really see anything different from him compared to say Masamune Date in Sengoku Basara, Naruto, Hibiki from Vandread (Don't know if anyone here knows that one), and a whole bunch of cocky anime heroes. Not saying DmC Dante is in a different boat. DmC Dante also has resemblances character wise to alot of those bad boy, ruthless type guys like Mugen from Samurai Champloo, or Oga from Beelzebub.

Not in DMC 1. Dante's personality in DMC 1 was pretty unique, not exactly original since guys like him have popped up before (i.e. Spider- Man and TMNT), but his character type wasn't done in a supernatural setting (if I recall) and the way he portrayed his confidence was alot more coolheaded and straightforward than in other cases where those kind of characters would just make some pun or joke. In DMC 3 and 4, that's when his character took to a more traditional archtype.

I forgot about DMC1. But I meant DMC3 and DMC4 Dante did the whole anime cliche hero theme, and now DmC is doing the whole black humor, rebellious, tough as nails theme.
