Well someone of the ign forums pointed out that nuDante or Dino(whatever you call him) as having traits from both Dante and Nero, not only gameplay wise but personality wise.

What do you guys think of that statement?

Which weapons should be brought back?
- Cerberus
- Agni & Rudra
- Nevan
- Beowulf
- Alastor
- Ifrit
- Gilgamesh
- Lucifer
- Pandora

Firearms
- Shotgun
- Grenade Gun
- Artemis
- Sniper
- Kalina Ann
- Needle Gun
- Nightmare
- Submachine Guns

And what kind of new ones should Dante wield, even Vergil?

Always thought of Dante as self taught when it comes to swordplay.
He must be self taught. I don't think you can teach anyone how to use 1 of a kind demon imprisoned weapons and be completely BassAss with them the very first time seeing/using them. U just can't teach that.

None of those except Gilgamesh & the shotgun.
And i will not speculate which weapons i would like to see, i'd rather be surprised

i really hope none of the weapons return...they're cool but let's face it, they don't exactly fit in with what NT is creating. Example, Agni and Rudra: they talk to each other and seem way too colorful imho for this game. Besides, I rather like the idea of NT having that creative freedom to come up with some amazing Devil Arms on their own. That way, everything is somewhat original (at least in design and "character") and this game can totally stand on its own.

the story has bad fan fiction written all over it. if the demons were able to torture dante in an orphanage etc. why not just kill him, since he's the son of their most hated enemy, when you know that strength like that is hereditary they would not want to just toy around, it's just common sense.

also were is he keeping ebony and ivory in these pictures? in 3 you knew he had them in his pants for atleast the first mission. but here he doesn't have a gun harness and his pants are way too tight to fit them into.

^ you're right. Because DMC Dante totally kept Nevan and Artemis up his ass, right? And surely Cerberus was in his pants. Seriously? Come on dude, the "places" these weapons are kept are never well thought out. You're gonna nit pick at NT for something that EVERY hack and slash game does, INCLUDING the original DMC?

As for what you said to the story, you make a good point about the plothole, but then again, we do not know the details of the plot. We have an overview! Ever think that maybe the demons didn't know Dante was a son of Sparda and they just like messing with human children? Ever think that the demons maybe "lost" the son of Sparda and thought that Dante was a normal child?

I could see that, as long as they're well-thought...the one thing that bothers me about DMC3 is that I felt as if everything was just thrown in..like Capcom thought "this would be a cool weapon, let's find a way to put it in"...I want this to actually make sense...and maybe not have us play through every level 2 or 3 times...that's pretty ridiculous

In general with both series, I just see him as being self taught when it comes to swordplay.

I just want nt to be creative when it comes to weapons, he has a shapeshifting weapon, use it to be creative.
Think green lantern.

Let me guess: DMC's writing until now has been en par with Goethe, Homer and Vergil, right?

*on a par with.

About those weapons; I'd rather not see any DMC weapons return in this game. I don't even consider DmC to be part of the Devil May Cry series.
But more importantly, I think I'd be bored out of my mind if the same old weapons would return. It would be kind of like the Elder Scrolls series' armor: ''Yaaay, Glass and Daedric... again''.

I'd rather see them try something new... something more exciting.

Alot of games usually think of the story afterwards. Like they'll brainstorm about what good action sequences they'd like to see and somehow write the story into that. Its way easier in the programming stages of making the game. Its like making a movie. You only have certain things you can make but u can imagine anything, so if you make something thats really cool, then you try to bring it into the story.
I think thats why books turn out to be horrible movies. Or at least cannot compare to the book.

The actual real life writer's name is spelled Virgil. :P Unless you meant DMC Vergil was a writer? THERE'S an idea.
