Did you find the reboot "too easy?"

To me, easy as hell. Never died, except on DMD. Not that much of a challenge, in fact I beat the game quite quickly. The only point that gave me some issues was last fight with Vergil, but only because I didn't figured out you could only beat him while in Devil Trigger.
So, in conclusion, fun to play for me, but not as much as the previous titles, since the difficulty was dumbed down so visibly.

It's definitely much easier than the others and i think that's because the enemies were designed to merely interrupt the player instead of going for the kill, even on DMD. And that was a mistake i believe. When you're standing still the enemies move around you but take ages to attack except maybe for the Ravagers(chainsaw guys).

That being said i also think the old games difficulty, especially 3, had much to do with the controls and the camera. DMC 3 is hard as nails don't get me wrong but give that Dante a free camera, a more fluid control scheme(I think Hideaki Itsuno didn't want lock on in DmC for good reason)....and checkpoints and the game would be less difficult as well. For this type of game DMC 4 difficulty is perfect for me and i think Bayonetta found the ultimate middle ground between empowering the player and challenging him. When i want to suffer more than that i play Ninja Gaiden.

Still, clearing an area with an uninterrupted combo while JCing, just charging and mixing up moves in DmC takes a bit of practice and also looks and feels good. That's good enough for me.

I also don't think removing the grapple and demon dodge is a good idea. They just have to design enemies around the character strentghs and i'm obviously not talking about the crappy color coded enemies. As someone else said in another thread the Dreamrunners should've been the rule not the exception.

Yes, it is easy on the earlier modes. When I played it in DMD, it was challenging, not as unforgivably challenging as the older games, but still was(even though I felt like VD was more hard in DMD). The only problem I had with that mode in this game is that half of the bosses(Hunter, Succubus, and Mundus) were insultingly easy. The other half(Barbas, Spawn, and Vergil) were a challenge....somewhat.

If you want a "real" challenge in the game, try Hell and Hell. The BEST mode of the game IMO.

It was easier.
WAAAAAYYYY.
The only times I die is when I cant DT or when Dante goes flying off the friggin edge.
My timing has always sucked, though, whether it be DMC or DmC or Bayonetta. Although, ok, i do get the hang of dodging and blocking fairly quick, it's the grappling and flying from point a to point b that kills me.
DmC was entertaining on the first few playthroughs. Mostly for story reasons.

I am not complaining here. DmC wasn't satisfying, but I DID beg for a dumbed down version of DMC.
As i am sure my past posts will confirm.
