That is exactly how I feel about his behavior as well.

I remember getting my head bit off by a couple of supporters for saying that on another topic lol.

Nobody asked him to kowtow, it's just common sense to say something along the lines of "I understand why people might be upset, and I take their criticism on board. I want every fan of Devil May Cry to be as happy as I am with the project, because it's thanks to them that the series became the sensation just as much as the designers whose shoes I'm trying to fill. I want you to be happy because, in the end, I'm one of you."

Not "I don't care.", because it's such a vague rebuttal that it implies he is apathetic to his entire install base. Imagine if a politician said that about his constituents; he'd never live it down.

If a politician said that when like 80% of them are putting him down, for mostly bullshit reasons? Might be the first true thing uttered in politics. And I'm pretty sure there's been interviews where he's said he stuff along those words as well. But that's not noticed, only when he shows that he isn't letting the over-the-top backlash get to him.

Maybe if this was the case for say again, ME3 ending, though most of my experience with the fans of were for the most part positive and not full of vengeance toward the developers themselves (over a product nobody had any clue about).

The only people that should've been offended about "not caring," are those that were behind the vile-filled tweets, making up ****, and sending pointless hate mail and death threats.

I can assure you that the second Kamiya makes a single awful game I will turn on him and join in with the haters laughing at him crashing and burning. Beating people while they're down is way more satisfying than helping them get back up. Not literally, of course. I don't run up to people that slipped on ice to kick them in the balls.

Well it certainly wasn't an eighty percentage of DMC fans who sent abusive things to NT, that's a gross exaggeration that insults every person on this forum. What's more, if a politician had that degree of negative backlash in his constituents he'd better re-evaluate his policies and behaviour, because they probably have a point.

I think people underestimate just how damaging it can be to the brand of a series like Devil May Cry if you drastically alter the main character's appearance. Would you take the hat and jacket away from Indiana Jones? A lot of the critique was very much justified, it's just those often reported idiots who dragged down the entire movement.

If you're going to be in the public eye, it's the responsibility of any intelligent individual to look beyond the weak insults and bad behaviour of the public in order to see the legitimate critique and to learn from it, rather than making snippish insults and blanket insults at the expense of most of your clients. It's just common sense.

Taking us away from that line of questioning, what would you say was Kamiya's worst game so far? Speaking as someone who recently replayed Viewtiful Joe, I know where my vote goes.

Hard to say, I really like all games that he directed. But if I have to choose, I'd say Bayonetta. As I just said in another thread, the game's still great but I am literally too embarassed to play it around other people.

He did make an awful game based off one of his wet dreams and named it Bayonetta.
