Yeah... come barging in with a subject you want to talk about that you know might be unstable is a bad idea. Slowly approach it and you'll see if she would like to talk about it,
Why don't you try to slowly change the subject then? You know, lightly approach it, and if she would ever respond unfavorable towards it then you just back off and try another time. I see no failure in that.
When I do get the time, if it's something I don't know she'll react well on I'd rather slowly change to that subject, otherwise I immediatly ask. I may never know when I would get such an opportunity again.
