I wonder after DMC5, they can go to DMC2 and remake the entire story in order to change Dante to the one we all love in 3, 1 & 4.
Even fix Lucia.
Even fix Lucia.
I don't think Lucia needs much fixing. Most of the narrative problems come from Dante and how he was handled. Plus they never figured out what to do with him as a character post DMC1.I wonder after DMC5, they can go to DMC2 and remake the entire story in order to change Dante to the one we all love in 3, 1 & 4.

they remake resident evil 2, there's hope i guess for DMC 2
RE2 is a successful and loved game. They know people are drooling over it. DMC2 is not. I doubt they'll bother with a remake. DMC1 and 3 have far better chances.
they remake resident evil 2, there's hope i guess for DMC 2?
i don't feel anything is wrong with dante's character, it was just the environment that made him bland, to me the environment felt so quiet and dead in a bad way, felt big but empty, that affects our perception to dante i guess..
as how to remake it, just have the same visual style with DMC 5, can't say no more bout characters and gameplay until DMC 5 is released, maybe we get something from the game to add up
The issue is the lack of context given for the change. People were thrown off by it so addressing why he's different would go a long way.
Context means a reason for the change.lack of context in what term? i'm sorry my english isn't that good and i'm having trouble understanding the whole sentence
Context means a reason for the change.
For example Prince of Persia Warrior Within takes place 7 years after prince of persia Sands of time. The prince is more cynical and worldweary because the Dahaka has been chasing him relentlessly.
The difference is Warrior Within gives a reason for the prince being different while DMC2 doesn't.

is trish really significant for dante that people came up with that theory? if the 'light' thing in 1 is an example, well okay then..
1. Story/Character
The story needs to be revamped and the story of the game is very bland and extremely boring. But it has a decent foundation to expand it more, and set it up for the endings to have good or bad outcome depending on choices and actions of Dante and Lucia. My ideal story is a setting of a mass demonic invasion summoned by Arius. To decimate Dumary Island to obtain the Arcana artifacts from ancient ruins protected, and preserved by Vie De Marli Clan to become a powerful immortal entity to enslave humanity. (I would set up the invasion to more of a massacre to be as gruesome, and horrifying as possible to have the players to know what's really at stake if they fail.) As the invasion sets on the island, Matier sent Lucia on a mission to destroy the artifacts to prevent Arius from using them. While the elder gathered the warriors of Vie De Marli to fight against the demons, and protect the people the best way they can. And I want to be able to play or at least see Dante's flashbacks to experience pain, tragedy, and horror that made him the man in the original DMC2 and why he's leaving things to fate by tossing a coin. I want Dante to be more empathetic and emotionally invested as a tragic hero that lost everything that he loves, and still has to fulfill his destiny as a protector just like his father before him. Also they could set up to have a romance to strengthen character development of Dante and Lucia and experience love for the first time on DMC series. I think Capcom need to recruit writers from CDPR who wrote the Witcher series to revamp the story for DMC2.
