Well, you may be right. Like if Dante actually meets him while travelling throught the hell or something. Tho whenever DmC2 will see the light of day is the whole other question now, seeing the sales...

I guess he was the general, leading the army into the fight, as well as a heavy-hitter, taking on the ones like Beowulf and etc. while soldiers were facing lesser demons. Also I think that the thing that made him a legend was the fact that he was a Demon, being able to fall in love with a human women and fight for her against his own kind.

Same here, would love to see Sparda kicking ass in the large scale all out war against the demon forces...

Sparda sealed of Temen-Ni-Gru and didn't expect that Vergil would go and undo all his work since Yamato was the key to seal the tower in the first place.

The Hellgates in DMC4 were man made, not much Sparda could do about that.

Way to go Sparda -_-

You gave your son a sword that OPENS the hell gate, left all your enemies to fight your sons, gave your wife amulets that can also open a hellgate, abandoned your kids before they were born, and got yourself killed even though you're suppose to be the legendary dark knight.

smooth. -_-,

Of course you don't remember me.
You people do realize that Sparda's "image" in DmC does not necessarily represents his true "image" right? Demon's and Angels and everything else in DmC have a more "human like" figure, at least those of "higher level", and Sparda would be one of those.

The "guy with horns" doesn't mean anything, he may not even have any horns at all. Or a tail. I mean, Eva had no wings.

Yes, but it is stated he loved a human woman and fathered twins in the past as part of the legend, which means it's canon fact Eva was not his only mortal love...I still call it as the priestess who was Lady's ancestor

no no screw logic man, let's just call NT lazy developers because they have a sparda that makes more sense and had more intentions and isn't just a carbon copy of this guy

To be fair, I think with Spardas inital thought that the weapons/keys/amulet would be safer with his half demon sons rather than some poor human shmuck that could be easily influenced by demonic magic *cough*Arkham*cough*.

But yeah, it totally backfired.

he said eva was the sole reason that classic sparda betrayed his own kind

From what I can gather, not much more is told about new Sparda than was told about classic Sparda. I read posts containing words such as 'likely' and I wonder how the heck this story's supposed to be clearer than the last, according to you.

And going into excessive detail about what Sparda did and what enemies he fought would kind of render the legend a story, not an actual legend. We don't know exactly what the heck Jesus did if he even existed (which he probably didn't). See my point? It was always enough for me to know that Sparda rebelled against his demon brethren and decided they needed to be prevented from ruling over the human world. It also adds mystery. I mean, do we really want to know everything about him? Wouldn't it all become a bit mundane if we did?

ChibiVerg

Vergil: Small and Cute.
Just to add here. I don't think N.Sparda is less "great/legendary/heroic/epic" just because he's still alive and kicking somewhere. Technically it's said (I think) by Vergil when explaining to Dante that Sparda is imprisoned somewhere in hell and tortured, which is the worse kind of punishment anyone can get.

I think both Spardas have reasons for doing what they did. I might lean a little bit more to N. Sparda's common sense being a little bit more logical. Y'know.. "well **** my wife is already dead... I'll save whatever I have left of my family. But gotta hurry or else Mundus is going to cause some serious ****". Compared to "I love this woman, I will protect mankind for her! Oh we have kids.. I will protect by leading the demons away from her and the kids!" I just find that the O.Sparda not thinking that maybe a small group of demons could have stayed behind and attempt (successfully) to kill Eva and possibly the kids was kinda silly....unless demons weren't suppose to be smart in DMC. I mean I'd have more faith in my Angel wife than my Human wife to raise them alone and protect them.

Besides DmC seems to have a much more human feel (not literally) to all the characters. Maybe N.Sparda didn't want his sons to be involved at all. Maybe he hoped that by erasing their memories and separating them that they would be put into good human families, and be raised as good human children, and live a normal (as normal can get) life. Oh agreeing with what somewhat said earlier that he didn't want them to get involved too early in their lives and wanted them to mature first before attempting anything drastic.

I'm still curious how Vergil got his memories back though 0.0!

Well, I don't get it.
If I understood right, when Mundus and his forces were invading Sparda's and Evas house, Sparda just grabbed the kids and ran away or smth.
WTH?
Why would he leave his wife. Why didn't he try to send his wife away with his children instead, and stay in the mansion himself, to buy his family some time?

And why didn't NT show us his face? I seriously think that they were like
"-Ergh... dunno, what can we do with his face?
-Just hide it, lol"
my question is why didn't she ditch the meat sack and fight the grunts or just fly away through a window

It's hard to escape a demon god. And how do we know if getting out of a human vessel is that simple? Plus do you expect her to just leave her kids behind?

mundus didn't change either when he was fighting dante, they just didn't want important characters other than poision not looking human so they could show off their "beautiful" facial motion capture tech

Love how you point out only poison but not the Hunter Demon, Mundus's Spawn, and Bob Barbas.
