Dropping any money on the Xbox One feels flat out insane.

Did they call it the Xbox one because taking like 359 steps back was the plan?

Is Microsoft giving the people what they want or are they telling you what you want?

I don't know what this means but, the online connection is needed to some extent I'm guessing. Always having a Kinect is the only way for it to work? Just when I thought they couldn't get anymore desperate with that Kinect.

The thing that really just flat out ****es me off is that used games are obsolete on that system. You won't even be able to bring your games over to your friends house or let them borrow it. They'll have to pay most likely what I heard.

Used games make up about 85% of my gaming library.

I have pretty much all the systems and I even game on PC but, because of my financial struggles upgrading my PC just right is a little of a hassle for me so console gaming is more of a convenience at times. Especially since computers are almost a 2nd language to me too occasionally.

With everything being revealed about the new Xbox I imagine Microsoft flipping everyone off while simultaneously saying "Give me money."

I hope XBOX One crashes and burns. Let Nintendo and Sony butt heads because at least the future for those two don't look as hopeless as Microsoft's.

I don't care for any new console so far but, I've decided already, Xbox is dead to me.

Crap. There was a ton of new Xbone news that I posted on the other thread. If I had known this one existed, I would have posted it here. Sorry.
 
Just read up now on Escapist.

More reasons to hate the Xbox ONE. It looks like it won't support SDTVs and Indie developers will not be able to self publish.

WELL ****. I've lived the xbox lifestyle my whole damn life...and now this ****!?

I guess my next adventure with the Master Chief will never happen for me... :'(
 
Im disappointed by both consoles by Microsoft & Sony, so many features they are pushing that I couldnt care less about. Also both companies have been very cagey about releasing full details about some features that people are worried about & havent explained them in detail. Im betting that a couple of the more restricting features that have been announced for the Xbox One will end up being either dropped or adapted as they have caused such an uproar. Also strange that Sony havent mentioned if they are doing something along the same lines on the PS4, they have just kept quiet. There are some features I thought looked pretty good & some impressive tech involved but all in all im more tempted than ever to go back to PC gaming & save up for a high end PC instead.

I'm with you. I'm not really turned on by ANY new console but, the PS4 is the only thing I'm going to keep my eye on and that's if I see a Little Big Planet 3 and MGS 5 with a bigger selection of titles. So I'm giving it about 2 years to make its case.

Sony keeping quiet does have me worried but, my friend and I were doing some research today and it turns out so far at least used games will still be playable on the PS4. That's one little sigh of relief I guess.

Just the sheer management and financial aspect that comes with PC gaming to get everything working just right is holding me back from upgrading right away. And I kind of don't know much about computers unfortunately. I may be being a little over-dramatic here but I'm still nervous when I'm fooling around with this thing lol.

I wish I had the money for a better computer. I'm cool with what I have though. I can still get my indie fix and with me being more of a retro gaming anyway older titles keep me occupied. And you can't get Metal Gear Solid and LittleBig Planet on a PC really.

LittleBig Planet is a game that can keep me occupied for years. I'm a very creative person and I love how it allows me to really use my imagination. I'm serious, LBP was a really big reason why I even considered a PS3 because I was playing Xbox long before I made the jump back to Sony this generation. I kind of wound up with every console this generation. Just like the previous one I had all 3 of the big 3. PS2 was godly. Now I'm just kind of babbling.

Xbox One though is just one big no no.

Why would you want to hook up a NEXT gen HD console to a SDTV ? that makes 0% sense to me.

But yeah Devs are really suffering like this >

I REALLY hate how much cash grinding these ****ing corporate bastards are doing and that's also the reason why i kinda hate SONY too they pressure and enslave devs to only make the games they WANT to make and only for PS.
 
Didn't it turn out that the Dreamcast wouldn't work on the newer widescreen TV's? (well mine doesn't anyway).

We aren't rich, we rent a HDTV (It's not ideal, but we get by).
Knowing Microsoft I bet certain features will only be available with a Gold Membership (Skype etc.)
They'll find ways of milking money from this new console.

They're just really messing this up and making this console inaccessible for different reasons.
You need an HD TV, wireless broadband fast internet, and a big enough room because the Kinect is now mandatory for the console to work; and now we're not even sure if we can take games to our friends' homes to play because games are now installed onto the console and a friend can only play them if they pay for an account to access the game online.

Then I'm sensing that they don't know about broadband at Microsoft :lol:
What is 'fast' broadband? (Plus, broadband is only good at certain times of the day.)
Where I live, our broadband speeds are only just being adjusted (they've been working on connections all over town.) And even then, it's only 7MBps (if that).

That's my broadband and it's faster then most peoples, but fast is subjective really.

Depending on the test site used, I live anywhere from wolverhampton to Birmingham- wrong:P And the speed is anywhere from 35 to 50. I don't know how there can be such variation in results.

I don't care. Goodbye gaming industry. I cherish old games like Final Fantasy VIII, Diablo I, Starcraft, Crash Bandicoot PS1, James Bond Nightfire (Gamecube), Resident Evil 4, Gran Turismo 2 PS1, Pandemonium, Wipeout2097. Sigh it's all lost in stinky money. Ugh what a bad scent. *leaves*
