Nero might have the potential to be stronger, but Dante has the experience and intelligence to outsmart Nero - which he by the way did in DMC4. Nero is in no way weak, but he lets his emotions control him... kinda like the Hulk.

I agree. And you could say that Nero's power being effected by his emotions getting in the way is very similar to Vergil's inability to control his power. It's similarities like that which make people believe there's more of a link between him and Vergil that Capcom aren't letting on about.

Yep, Dante is the superior warrior. Does that make Nero weak?
Well, he's got to be pretty strong for a weakling to take out the Savior, I say.

Agreed. I think the point that the ending was trying to make was how Nero had finally came to terms with his Devil Bringer and he finally accepted himself and his strength. This acceptance of himself gave him that extra boost of strength in which he was able to take the Saviour down so easily. After all of the events, Nero could only emerge as more powerful than he was when he started. So no, Nero isn't weak.

Vergil's inability to control his power? This is madness!

How so? After the death of their mother, Eva, Vergil decided to gain power in order to protect himself and supposedly the ones he loves (Or at least, we're given that impression from quotes, even if it's not displayed so well). Vergil doesn't really hold the same ability of controlling his strength like Dante does. Granted, Vergil is equally as strong as Dante, physically. But mentally, it seems to be another story. It's his mentality towards power in general that leads to his inability to properly control it. This is why he rushes into fighting Mundus, even though Dante had just defeated him. It seems Vergil lacks patience.

Why Mr. Anderson? Why? Why? Why? Why do you say that his mentality towards power leads to his inability properly control it, when he showed us great use of his power with total control over it? Why did you not think that Vergil was just excited to fight Mundus, the top dog of hell, who was defeated by his father, instead of lack of patience? Why did you not think that face to Mundus, Vergil chose the path of the warrior to fight till the end, because he did not have the choice since his stuck in hell with no escape?

It looks like someone can't cope with others saying something negative about his favourite character, even if it might be true...

Why I'll tell you. Patience my friend. It's just my opinion on him, really. Don't get me wrong, Vergil is an awesome character. I think he wasn't treated properly in the Series, and they just made him to lose really. That's why they got rid of him and haven't brought him back yet. Even someone inside Capcom stated they didn't like Vergil, I can't remember who. My opinion on Vergil is that he is an extremely skilful warrior, like Dante is. But he rushes into things a lot without taking his time. Like with Temen-Ni-Gru. He was rushing to get to the power, and got caught up in everything. He must of liked a challenge, inviting his brother along. So to him, he sees himself as unbeatable. Perhaps Dante does not think the same way, but he makes cocky remarks to make up for his lack of confidence in that sense. It's like those people who are afraid of going through moments in life, so they always make jokes to lighten the mood. I do it myself sometimes. Vergil seems to be more cold hearted and doesn't seem to care as much as Dante. And Vergil doesn't back down from a challenge, but he'll accept anything without putting his mind to it properly. Dante however embraces his human side more than Vergil does, who seems to despise it. So Dante already understands himself better, and understands how to embrace his strength. He accepts his own mortality, therefore has the ability to properly control his power. That's why I said I don't think Vergil has that same ability. And his inability to control his power is his weakness.

I'd say Dante is stronger in the 4th game he doesnt even seem threated enough to even take anyone seriously
Ex: ITS GOT WINGS
not to mention He beat mudus argosax and Arkham and Vergil multiple times and He actually kills the three Hellgate bosses not let them go recover

Mr. Anderson, I read it all and once again, I must disagree. The reason I say that is because you and I don't have the same perception of inability to control power. You seem to say that he could be stronger if accepted his human side. In my mind, the human half is worthless, because it grant zero power. As for Vergil rushing to get power, I will tell you what I saw. What I saw is Vergil calmely waiting Dante at the top of the tower, while listening to Arkham's nonsenses. What I saw, is Vergil walking not rushing toward the ritual room. Even Lady saw him walking and he did not seem in a hurry, even after what Sparda wannabe did to tricked him to get the power. There is two situations when he loose his cool: When he's unable to do the ritual with his current knowledge and when Dante refuse to give him Force Edge. Asmodaius, I could say the same thing to you on DmC's negativity. Yes I have a reason to say that.

Yes, you could... and you would be wrong.
I accept and understand why some people dislike the new DmC.
Just because I don't agree with them does not mean I don't understand their point of view.

The topic at hand wasn't to do with if Vergil is stronger than Dante. As I stated before, they are equal in strength. I could always debate this further, but I'll simply choose not to for several reasons. It wouldn't be true to the actual topic at hand that I started. You already agreed that we have a different opinion on what we think is an inability to control power. Don't get me wrong, I do have points I could put out there, but like I said I'll save the original purpose of this Thread the boring details.

In regards to other people's views on other things, that's also not related to the topic.

Everything that has a beginning has an end, LordOfDarkness. As you wish and I understand.
