I like them both 
DMC Dante will always be one of my all time faverite characters, but even though we dont know that much about DmC Dante, I still find him interesting and I cant wait to learn more about him 
Another thing about him is that he just looks like a lonely and angsty boy who just needs a hug (which I would gladly provide xDD)

i love how you make it so we have to scroll over to read your commentsI like both, actually. DMC Dante will always be one of the greatest, if not the greatest protagonist I've ever followed in a video game (other than my own character in Fallout of course). I like him because of his ability to be unserious in what should be a morbid situation, but not childish to the point that he's like a ten year old in a man's body. That is a truly hard medium to master in characterization and they hit the mark.
While I don't know this new Dante as much as the original, I like him because from what I've seen in gameplay, he is grittier (not downright gritty, like say, Red Dead Redemption's characters) than the original. From the little snippets of story (emphasis on snippets), I can see that he might be more relatable.
Of course, I will be cautious on that until I see some story trailers.
