i definitely see what you mean haven, i kinda wished i would've waited to post this topic now that i think about it, but hey when DmC comes out perhaps this thread will be a hot subjectI like both Dantes:
I like the original Dante because he's classic, he's a character we've grown used to over the years. But I also like this Dante because he's new, he's different, and thats interesting to me. But as others have said, we know pretty much nothing about this Dante because the game isn't out.
I think because NT is writing the story, Dante will ultimately seem more involved in this story, and because this is a version of Dante where he is at his youngest, i think Dante will have more conflicting emotions that will be easy to identify without even being human.... similar to Skrek and Donkeyfrom the little we have seen DmC Dante seems to have the same basic personality as the original Dante. and they both have really impressive abilities. so far most of the differences between the two seem to be things that still allow both to be good characters just in different ways.
DmC Dante's original look was not good but i think the current appearance is as cool as the original Dante. and he seems to have quit smoking in between trailers
as a Half-Angel DmC Dante is likely to lack some of the Half-Human original Dante's more interesting traits but he will probably have a few interesting traits of his own to make up for it.
so i like both.

yeah i get it, it just made me giggle^^all im saying is we've seen non human characters display genuine human emotions
Nah, I liked him too. Although he's no Dante, he was still a cool kid. =P"He could even be like... Dare I say it... NERO."

But to be on topic, I agree with people who are saying it's too early to make a clear vote since we don't know much about new Dante as of late.
Well for the record, I like them both, but I don't like DmC Dante as much as DMC Dante. DMC Dante will always remain number one in my book. ^^

Hellboy would be a better example as even he and some other characters have less in common with humanity than Dante and Trish, they do seem more in tune with humanity and regular people than they do.
Or maybe its the writing.
