Oh well gee golly gosh, I'm so sorry for offending you aka, I had no idea I was talking down to fans never being 100% pleased with any of the DMC games released.

Not necessarily, DMC2 Dante was stoic and boring compared to the cocky Dante in DMC1 (which fans adored) so they took that Dante and upped the anty in DMC3. Fans also hated the easy difficulty in DMC2 so they gave American fans a harder version of the game. Upping the difficulty could only be a fan service, because decreasing the difficulty would make it more accessible to a wider player base. They also made a special edition and gave people an opportunity to play Vergil because the fans loved him. Overall they molded the game around what people loved about the DMC1, and ditched the easy mode difficulty and mundane environments of DMC2.I don't remember hearing any news or anything that said that DMC3 was directed by the fans. That was still created by Capcom, and what I mean by that is that the fans had no decision in anything other than "don't repeat DMC2".
I don't think its that bad if he wears a British flag. It just a piece of clothing and it doesn't make him British
I guess Team Ninja, like Capcom, wants their franchise to sell as much as God of War....by making it more like God of War.*facepalm*
why does it need to be westernised? it doesn't need it.

Although this may seem like it is coming out of nowhere, I'm starting to hate Capcom now. They are rebooting a franchise that didn't need it. DMC4 sold good actually and they profited from it, so I don't know where this need to reboot it is coming from. DMC series isn't like Castlevania or Tomb Raider...series that needed a reboot. This whole move screams of making DMC a GoW clone (oh, the irony) so they can get that GoW money. Also, Capcom isn't localizing the new Miles Edgeworth game and they think all Western gamers are either Oblivion-loving twats or FPS-loving idiots with many of their new IPs.
I cleared DMC4 then traded it in right away. I never liked Nero, but I gave him a go. He was reasonable as a character, but what sucked was 1 style, 1 gun and 1 sword, when compared to DMC3's 6 styles, 5 guns and 5 swords. Replay value straight in the toilet for DMC4.
Yeah. He would have been cool as a bonus character like Vergil in DMC3. Or even have Nero as "easy" mode, for players who don't want the complexity of Dante. But they even shot themselves in the balls with Dante in DMC4. Removed weapons and guns from 3, didn't add very much either
They have an easy mode in every game, but what I mean is, have the entire game with Nero as the easy mode, and then have the entire game with Dante for the harder difficulties. By having Nero at the start of the game, not only do you force superior players to use a limited move set, but you also confuse the inferior players once they get to Dante all of a sudden, and you split the game in half rather than having the full game accessible to both Nero and Dante players.Well they do that in every game to be fair but I remember before 4 was released they were often asked about the reason for introducing Nero and the reason actually was for newcomers who didn't want to be thrown into the deep end with Dante's complexity. So they started with Nero to ease them into the game then throw Dante into the mix for the fans.
to have Nero or Dante playable for the entire game automaticly they would have to write two entirely different stories or not give Dante a story at all. (it would have been a good idea to let you play as each charicter in the other charicters part of the story but that is a compleatly different thing )
That would have been good too. The main problem is splitting the game up the way they didto have Nero or Dante playable for the entire game automaticly they would have to write two entirely different stories or not give Dante a story at all.
