What improvements would you like to see ?

I feel bad disagreeing with someone using such amazing avatar and signature, but unfortunately I do, it would not do the stylish gameplay any good if you could smash something in the environment by accident and it would ruin your combo, imagine if you're recording a combo video and then a building accidentaly collapses and kills everyone on the screen...

no not like that, i mean how you can shape the terrain to your advantage and that you could use it as a weapon. so smash a hole in the ground, suddenly enemies loose their footing and are alot slower. then you could smash enemies into buildings or use debree as a weapon or something. and btw feel free to critic me, thats why were here after all :)

I knew Bruce Lee wouldn't fail me. It was my mistake, your idea is awesome.

Finally almost done playing through DMC4.
The fighting system's great, but it suffers from the same lock on problems as last time. I officially won't miss the lock-on function in this series.

Although I do need proof that the auto-lock on is as reliable as Ninja Gaiden's or the Arkham series'.

This game will never be as good as Arkham city because Arkham city has one thing that this game will never have.

Back on topic (Shocking isn't it :O) another improvement I just thought up is make Eryx look better, pretty sure most will agree they done goofed with that design. I want to be able to like all the weapons, I don't want Nevan's ghost to strike in the form of the gauntlets (One of my favourite weapon types since Ifrit)

Design wise it definetly needs improvement...ability wise it needs improvement but its mainly because of its slow abilities....I don't care what you say...THERE IS NO NEED TO HAVE SLOW WEAPONS....I'm fine with SPEEDY YET WEAK weapons but weapons that move as slow as hell as Arbiter and even Eryx should be a crime in DMC games. I'm fine with the demon and angel mechanic but what I classify demon weapons as slow....I mean it should be angel weapons...fast and have great range but is weak....demon weapons...powerful but lacks range bad enough they're slow as hell maybe some attacks should be slow or have slow activation times like how certain moves in past dmc games took pretty long to pull off or maybe each demon weapon can charge up or holding it increases its power to add the slow effect yet powerful strike feel.

Very true, I wasn't overly bothered about Arbiter being as slow as it is since it's pretty much just a copy of Osiris, it makes sense to have 2 ends of the spectrum in similar weapons. But I also feel that not all demon weapons should suffer from being the slow ones every time. It makes 50% of the weapons made useless to those that prefer speed. Not a clever move if you want people to enjoy a fast paced game. They need to start thinking up other difference ratios for things like speed, range, charge attacks, power, AoE, guarding etc. instead of having the difference ratios being pretty much the same between all A/D weapons. Hopefully they have already thought of this, and are adjusting what they have made already, and what they have that is otherwise unknown to us.

As others have mentioned, I would also like to have even some demon weapons that weren't so slow. Or an option to upgrade the weapons to be faster. I'm not completely against it that there are pros and cons in all the weapons, it's very understandable, but I still wouldn't want all of them to be so strict. In Heavenly Sword I sometimes found myself frustrated because of this "either strenght or speed" mentality.

well Tameen and alex said that weapons become upgraded as you progress ie more than just combos. as such i think its a safe bet that these weapons will speed up and have quick combos. like gilgamesh, at first it was slow but it became a quick striker when you finish upgrading it. besides i like having a power house if a weapon. combine it with timing and quick reflexes and you have yourself a juggernaut

Well, when it comes to improvements I would like to see in the game it would definitly be something like abilitys in Kingdom Hearts. In fact I really hope that these character perks in the pre-order are in fact like that. Some kind of passive stuff to personalize your playstyle, would be awesome, like you can choose up to 4 perks, that either let you gain DT faster or make you base jumping ability a boost so you can reach higher places.
There would be so much room for people to experiment with stuff like this, ah well one can only dream...

I don't mind having a power house but not a slow-ass powerhouse.......wait I remembered Pandora & Nero's Maximum Bet move.....nevermind.

I notice everyone saying Eryx was slow, yet if I remember correctly the past gauntlets weren't exactly fast either. Those gauntlets were just as slow for the first four combos. i really don't see a problem with slow weapons since;

DMC1 had slow gauntlets
DMC2 was slow in general
DMC3 had slow gauntlets and Nervan
and DMC4 with it's gauntlets as well.

Yeah, I hope the gauntlets look better later on, cause they looked like clay wrapped around his hands or Popeye's arms.

Tell that to the speed and fps whores on Youtube who complained about this game literally moving at the same speed of other DMC games but compare it to the Turbo Modded, FPS-drugged up, and speed editing combo videos of the PC DMC games....mainly DMC4....DMC3 was actually pretty fast on the console.

True. But those were as you said "Drugged up" gameplay. I mean like in terms of how much time it takes to do the first punch and then the second. I think it kind of makes sense that these gauntlets are slow cause, I don't know, they're heavy and take a lot of strength to use. And we've seen Dante use Arbiter, so he still has a bit of a problem with heavy weapons.

Plus they're not that slow....compared to Beowulf on Normal Mode and Ifrit....and probably Gilgamesh.
