Stephan doughlas actually died soon after the debated and election, but if you demand historical accuracy in your webcomics, you should be reading "Hark! A Vagrant."

The comic shows Lincoln giving the Gettysberg Address, and his rival Douglas makes a "your mom" joke about it by repeating what lincoln said, but with "your mom" instead. Then the bottom text refers how, because of his extremely funny, but sadly lame joke, his career as a politician declines rapidly, but this is, of course, historically inaccurate, and thats why I wrote the phrase in the beginning of this post, to collaborate with the original joke.
