I feel like I don't appreciate Dutch delicacies enough. Syrupwaffles, oilballs, peppernuts... (all literal translations). What are some of you guys' countries' delicacies?

Corrupt politicians. I mean, we've got some awesome ice cream flavors. I've got one in the freezer that's tangerine, shortbread, and I think white chocolate. -looking forward to trying it- Also: stuffed cheese burgers patties. A store near us has one stuffed with bacon and cheese. It makes me happy. -also loves all the soup flavors- But...honestly, American food is kinda boring, imo...unless we're talking about Native American food. In which case, fry bread is love. <3

Thinking:
I'm so scared of making this chowder. Potatoes and bacon are totally normal ingredients in chowder, but boiled eggs? D: I hope it's good...I really don't want to have to find someone to give the left overs to.

You're not alone. There's a lot of Canadian foods I take for granted, some I didn't even realize were unique to Canada until people asked me what kind of goodies we have. ^^;

Well, a fan favourite for a lot of people would be poutine: fries with cheese curds and gravy. There are other kinds too, with chives, ground beef, bacon, etc. But the basic kind is the one I mentioned. Other stuff we have is maple-flavoured things; lollipops, fudge, cookies...pretty much any sweet you can think of.

Other stuff:
-Beaver Tails (which I've never had, and don't worry--not actually made of beaver, lol).
-Butter tarts (this one legitimately surprised me).
-Nanaimo Bars
-Kraft Dinner (another one that surprised me.)
-Montreal Smoked Meat

Y'know...to name a few. ;)

Uhhh... chippy on a friday night?

Kebab from a dodgy looking van at 3am?

Failing that, full English cooked breakfast with a builder's tea from a cafe that for whom the words "standards of health and hygiene" don't really apply. With chipped Formica tables, ripped lino flooring and "that" sticky chair.

That sounds like pure diabetes. I want to try it.

I dunno about diabetes, but definitely artery-clogging goodness.

CT: Looks like kiddo's first day back was a success.

+So much writing done today. How the hell did that happen? o_O And here I thought the first day back to work would take some false tries.

++Looks like we're having some sort of casserole tonight.

+++Ooh, if hubby likes the work his co-worker does, I'm definitely getting the wrist tattoo done, next. A $20 tattoo? Yes, please!

Everyone back at school, teenage daughter told to put a skirt on rather than the belt she attempted to leave the house with, middle son crying he hates school and he's going to "kick school in its winkie", youngest son hates school too but now he has his own locker it suddenly seems cooler...

And breathe. Cup of tea, bit of Skyrim and a nice cool shower to wash away some of the gosh-awful humid stickiness we are getting here this week. Plus, y'know, pay day was yesterday so that's always nice.

Back at it with some more Dino Crisis 2. Managed to record the rest of it this past week end. Now I've got a good week or two of rendering/uploading before deciding what to play next.

Wow, the things you find out when you haven't seen someone for two months. I feel really bad for her. To lose it at the end of the second trimester/beginning of the third? That's rough. :frown:

So I actually went to work with my new anime necktie on. So many people looked at me.

Here's a pic of what it looks like.

Egg chowder was good but strange. I'll need to adjust it some. Now to see about meatloaf with brown gravy.... -has honestly never had/made it this way before--thinks it should be good, though will probably go back to her usual recipe-

+ Editing...why you so hard?

Apparently there was an iPhone 7 conference yesterday. From what I gathered:

- No headphone jack, you'll have to use Apple's $160 wireless headphones instead. There were three reasons for it that could be summed up in the word "Courage" according to Tim Cook (Apple CEO). First reason is so there is more space for other stuff in the phone, second one I forgot, third is that Apple wants to go wireless.
- Two cameras. Don't know its purpose yet.
- You can buy an adapter for $9 to put into the charger socket and still use wired headphones. However, this also means you can't use wired headphones and charge your phone at the same time.

Seems like Tim Cook really paid attention in class during "How to make your product unappealing 101".
