Cool. Just hobby? Or you planning to go into the field or make something big with it?
Sorry for the long pause.
Yes, I plan on doing something art related. I like telling stories so writing was something I wanted to try my hands at but I really love to draw and animate so I was planning on going at it professionally. Actually, I was thinking of writing a comic to see how well I can pull it off, art and writing. Once I have enough to buy a computer I'm going to try building a portfolio again and starting on that comic, maybe sooner.
I have a few plans for my new computer once I get it. First was to learn to draw in PhotoShop and SketchBook. I kinda have a good grasp on anatomy and perspective but I still struggle with clothed characters, color, and faces. I got a lot of work to do, specially since I still have to get used to the difference between a wacom and a pencil or pen.
I also still have a lot of free rigged characters from back in the day when my computer worked so I'm planning on animating some sequences and a few audio clips from movies. Of course there are the required walk cycles, weight tests, and lip sinking that has to go with all portfolios so those have to be made.
I am also thinking of starting a video game/movie channel on YouTube to make recommendations of both to people. Mostly none popular things like poorly sold games or foreign films. I have video editing training and motion graphics so I have the skills and a good enough version of the softwares to pull it off. The issue is the copy write laws that even as I would be protected under critique they don't seem to care and they just crack down on everyone making it a hustle to put in any footage of anything, specially movies, I've heard. I was also hoping to have my channel be bilingual, in both Spanish and English.
Well, for now it's all just talk and one or all might fall through but I gatta try, right?
Hollywood's Kleenex.
My new term for the frequent reboots.
I'm sick of people claiming reboots are good for the film industry when they're appearing quicker the Kleenex in a box of tissues.
And have you noticed the recent sprout of TV shows that are based on movies? From Dusk til Dawn, Hannibal, Bates Motel, and a few others I can't remember. It's getting a little overboard.
