It's funny how people are so willing to accept this "version" of Vergil as the "One True Canon", yet turn around and say that DmC "doesn't deserve its namesake" no matter how much Capcom insists.
Deserve? I would say that it doesn't. However, all things been equal, deserve or not it's got it.

We will never know what vergil's true emotions are unless we get another game based on him, so lets just stop this war between the "fanboys" and the "all knowing critics".

This original post is just explaining what we already know. If you weren't able to figure this stuff out playing DMC 3 then I don't know what to tell you. I don't even know why a discussion has to be held about it.
I was talking about how are you saying that people "over shadow the reality" when is canon, and how "selfinesh", "vain" and "superiority complex" aren't part of his character, even if some people here say so.

They can, they have, and will continue to do so until their dying breath. Because apparently that's all they really exist for.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Welcome to the minds of stubborn, fact-twisting, self-entitled, tunnel-vision, logic-defying, truth-denying fanboys.

I think I'm going to put that on my sig for a while.
I wish we could discuss on this forums without end like this.

Kamiya just making references to the games he worked on doesn't mean they're connected. That's like saying every Pixar movie exist in the same universe because you can see the Pizza Planet truck in every movie. Not to mention all the other references they throw in.

And yea, DmC totally has nothing to do with Devil May Cry. It's only just a Devil May Cry game but whatever.

Actually mentioning Eva being a witch has more significance to DMC story than simply a reference.

I'll choose to acknowledge it as significant to DMC story since there is nothing about DMC Eva and it sounds logical that Eva may been a witch.
Doesn't matter what you choose to believe. Wake up. Don't you think DMC has enough to juggle story wise as it is? It's riddled with enough plot holes and continuity issues.

Bayonetta and Devil May Cry are never going to come together. And if you choose to believe that reference over the established canon then I don't know what to tell you. If this were true then the history of Sparda and Eva just isn't true all of a sudden. IT DOESN'T WORK.

Then again, you're persistent on believing Bayonetta wasn't dead and Nintendo didn't save the franchise. You're kind of hard to talk to.

Well, then we might as well close the thread. Those who want to discuss what the OP says will still want to discuss it and those who disagree will insist on negating it.

I'd like to keep analyzing that translation but all I'm ganna get is people telling me why it's wrong.

I choose to believe Eva was a witch because Team Little Devils weren't part of DMC 2 (They were left out just like Kamiya). And many of them went on to make Bayonetta which is where the reference of Eva comes from.

And Bayonetta wasn't dead. You people who are opposing me can't let go off that.

If Bayonetta serie was dead tell me:
1) Why did Sega sell ONLY the rights for Bayo 2 to Nintendo? They didn't sell the serie to Nintendo.

2) Why is Sega showing interest in Bayo 2 despite Nintendo publishing it

No ...Bayo isn't dead. It's just people like you who assume its dead because you think "Oh herp derp it sold little". "Herp derp Sega lost interest but they still have the rights to the serie. herp derp".

News flash: Most new games sell little, especially hack and slash.

You and others are pulling facts out of your arses. Sega hasn't lost interest in Bayo serie. They simply said "hey we can't do Bayo 2" and let Nintendo do it.
They also have given out statement where they said "We will focus on core ips".

I broke it down to you time in time again why you should thank Nintendo for Bayonetta 2's existence but you still just don't get it. What more do you need to understand? Ugh just whatever. Trying to explain things to you is exhausting.

Seriously, I just want to discuss the translation with out someone listing me a bunch of opinions on how it's wrong. Is that too much to ask?

^ I wonder why Vergil seeks power so much. The translation says he seeks it out for a genuine desire of wanting to be stronger.

But how can someone want to be stronger without a cause?

I think he wishes to be as powerful as his father and he feels that he is not. His father is the stuff of legends and to him it seems like what defined Sparda was his power while to Dante it was his proud soul.
