Vergil is Nelo Angelo!!! Storyline-wise It doesn't make sense.

Gameplay-wise?!

For some reason, I like the flash and agility of Vergil, rather than the brute strength of Nelo Angelo! I have an O-Katana just like Vergil's Yamato. Gotta love that sword!

I try to stay on topic. You should do that.^_^

Anyway, as I was saying, I like the way the Judgment Cut has been made as Dimensional Cut in DMC4. I like the way the cuts appear, even though Dante just unsheathes the sword, meaning the moves are invisible to the human eye.

I love them both for different ways. But as Nelo Angelo is "older" in my memory of gameplay, he has a special place as one of my favorite bosses in games in general. So I prefer him. But not with any great distance between him and Vergil.=]
