You gotta understand Nero wasn't sure through out his life if he was human or a demon(pay attention to what he says to kyrie at the end of the game and what she says back to him). Dante in DMC3 wasn't sure if he was human or a demon until he realised his father was a demon(he wasn't big on his father or the legends that followed him)Nero has always had the blood of sparda in him.
