Vergil gameplay

I know someone may have said this already, but...

Vergil's flying kick was never called 'Killer Bee'. It was called, 'Starfall'.

'' ...Done.''

Bonus points to whomever gets that reference.

Personally, I think Dante's flying kick should have been called 'Dead Drop' -- anything that sounded better than KB. :/

Edit: Or at least, 'Beeline' would have sounded better. Wasp. Hawk Dive. Sky Dive. Bird of Prey. Something.

He also never had a name for his Ifrit Aerial Kick. It should have been called, 'Afterburner' since 'Meteor' was already taken. At least, 'Full House' sounded slightly better.

Edit: I also like the fact that Starfall has an automatic rebound. I know that's what JCing is for, but it saves me the trouble from having to do so, since I always had problems performing them.

I know what you mean, I though Killer Bee was a bit of a lame name. It did seem Vergil got all the better names like Lunar Phase, Judgement Cut, Starfall etc.

And the reference, I feel like I do know it but for the life of me I can't remember. Please tell me or I'll implode with confusion and frustration :<

The reference was for the latest James Bond movie. ''Skyfall...'' ''...Done.''

Vergil really did have the better names, didn't he? I especially liked the fact that all his moves and weapons blended into one effortlessly. That was classic.

Gents. Happy new year and I have new info from the official blog.

It mentions of Vergil's mechanics in the DLC. I'll translate it in my best.

"Vergil's Downfall" is a DLC that will be released after the game is sold, and it contains a original story that presents Vergil as the main character. Yup, that's it "Orginal story" I'll say it one more time..."Original story with Vergil !"
And also it contains original enemies that only appear in this content with difficulties you can select at will.
This will be in your package if you reserve your game.
Yeah this is really BAD stuff! So bad that I'm obviously sticking it in your face...Well, let's go to how you play as Vergil.

First of all, Vergil is not armed with guns.
Instead he has sword shaped projectiles called "Gen-eiken" (Summoned swords). It can't be rapid-fired like Ebony and Ivory but each hit you make pack quite a punch. These swords can be used in used in a unique way.
As Dante you had your Ophion whip, and can do Angel-lift and demon-pull, Vergil can also do these moves but in a different way. When you throw a sword at your opponent, it remains stuck on it. This targets your porting site.
Also Vergil won't be transforming his Yamato into something like Dante's whip. This means you have the freedom of moving freely while attacking a enemy and pullling another weakened enemy and finishing both of them.
It is sort of confusing but once you get used to it you can fight with extreme speed.
Of course because he is Dante's kind, he has demon/angel moves.
The difference is that Dante's style is dragging opponents with power, while Vergil uses his skill.
There are still some secrets that Vergil holds so stay tuned!

Hmm...from this page I don't know Vergil has multiple weapons. which make me worried.

From the gameplay footage we've seen, it looks like his Angel and Demon stances just change how he uses Yamato. I don't think he'll get any more weapons, but I'm satisfied; I think multiple styles for one weapon is really cool.

Well, how bad can it be? I'm just curious....

They say that all difficuties will be available.
BP was always a sort of difficuty in the menu and I doubt they will leave him out.

I'm satisfied with VD. I hope he has training mode or body palace mode
It would be pretty ****ty if we couldn't use Vergil in Bloody Palace (assuming there's one) and Training Mode. I wasn't even expecting boss fights for Vergil (and for that I'm quite happy), but using him in other modes should be a given.

I get the feeling playing as Vergil in DmC won't feel so different from Dante as it was on DMC3. However, it doesn't mean Vergil won't have his own unique tricks either. Chances are, the most he'll share with Dante will be the basic Rebellion moves and combos, but once you enter Angel and Devil stances then you'll feel Vergil's uniqueness.

That's what I'm hoping for at least.
