Vergil gameplay

I wonder was he crazy before all this and was good at hiding how unhinged he really is and whatever happened made him loose his hold on the clam clean picture he presented himself...or maybe little by little he really starts to lose it because now Dante is here and he can see his plans coming closer to being realized..and any little mess up would make him loose hold a bit. lol

So instead of Dante being the unstable one like the 2010 trailer, Vergil is the one who's unstable.

Something like that because the most unstable person is not the one you think looks so..or looks dangerous. So who knows just to me he has this tightly held rein on himself...

It looked like the person playing didnt really know what he was doing to me which made Virgil look slow. It looked like they only wanted to use certain and was trying to remember what they were mid combo like he does two hits of his air combo and pause to the point he starts to fall then does the spinning air slash which doesnt seem to be part of a pause combo since it was shown in the Downfall trailer that its can be done on its own. I think the vid coulda been better if they used a better player.

Something else off topic but its seems they shifted focus to the dlc now which makes me worry they didnt fix the glitches in the main game.

I think the concept of Vergils combat is more like the classic DMC.
No rake move or demon pull or aquilla suction so far.
But again his air combat is very graceful, only one-handed.
I've noticed killer bee seems to make you slightly rebound on your enemy and you can chase the enemies in the air with it.

Im just hoping that there is no mashable combo like dante's. vergil is always more precise and calculating combat (except for nelo angelo, which is pretty much DMC1 dante with summoned sword.)

I always thought a mashable Dimension Slash or Judgment Cut for extra hits would be really cool. I know Vergil could do multiple Judgment Cut orbs in DMC3, but I'd like one that hangs there and continues slashing until it explodes, like a sort of spherical, ranged Million Stab.

Oh yeah that would be neat!

Judgement Cut looks like a charged move so it might have the dmc3 thing going or they might use the perfect timed thing like with with drive.
I would like to see him actually use his summon swords to fight kinda like lucifer but less dance and exlpoding oriented. Has anyone seen Soul Eater? Think of Mifune.

Let's see if I can decipher some of the new moves.

0:30 - Rising Star: Looks like his Beowulf launcher from DMC3 (two vertical underhand circular strikes), but done with Yamato. Sheath glows blue.

0:31 - Helm Breaker: Identical to HB with Force Edge from DMC3, but done with Yamato.

0:33 - Aerial Rave: Like Dante's. Full combo at 0:48, showing three hits.

0:35 - Upperslash: Pretty much High Time with Yamato. Vergil jumps up with the strike in this variation.

0:35 - Helm Breaker level 2?: Same as above, but a wind slash extends far past the blade.

0:37 - Orbit: A wide aerial draw-strike in a vertical circle, followed up with semicircular strike aimed downward. Sheath glows blue during the move.

0:38 - Drive: Downward overhead aerial draw-strike. Turns enemy into a comet toward the ground. Sheath glows red. Vergil remains airborne.

0:51 - Killer Bee: Red flash, then Vergil does a flying kick downward that bounces him up a bit on hit. Yamato glows red.

0:52 - Slasher: Basic three-hit combo, lifted directly from DMC3.

0:53 - Spiral Swords: Same as DMC3.

0:53 - Blistering Swords: Five Summoned Swords appear above Vergil, aimed at target. Costs one white block of magic.

0:59 - Judgment Cut: Looks like Slash Dimension from DMC4's Dark Slayer Style. Sheath glowing white before move.

1:00 - Rapid Slash: Misses here, but is listed on the Style gauge for a split second at 1:02.

1:01 - Flare: Vergil does a spinning jump with Yamato, very wide horizontal circular strike, hits 360. Sheath glows blue.

1:06 - Stomp: Vergil plunges Yamato into the ground with a fiery shockwave. Sheath and Yamato glow blue.

1:08 - Summoned Sword: Summoned Sword still embedded in Stygian.

1:09 - Divorce: Strong, solid overhead strike on the ground. Not a draw-strike like the end of Slasher. Sheath glowing red.

Other stuff: Vergil launches a blue Summoned Sword at his Trick target, a parallel to Angel Lift. Normal Summoned/Blistering/Spiral swords are white.

Frame-by-frame, Vergil's moves look totally sweet. The animations are top-notch, though the flashy effects could use a touch-up (I always loved the crescents that Yamato left behind in DMC3). It looks like Vergil uses Yamato in Human, Angel, and Demon stances, which I honestly like quite a bit. It gives him the theme of dedication to his family blade, and I like seeing single weapons used in multiple distinct styles. Seeing that Trick toward a target is the equivalent of Angel Lift, I really want to see what his Demon Pull looks like. A red sword that drags enemies to him? A red sword that teleports his enemies to him? Either could be really cool.

I want that DLC!

The only thing that bothers me right now is Vergil's look, but not in the way you might think.

Just look at him. He looks a LOT like the original Dante.

Why didn't Capcom allow Dante to look like this in the first place? It suits the current style of the games right now, doesn't ruin any of new Dante's stablished character and at the same time it does make you feel like playing same old Dante but with an all new rebooted story.

I have no issues with Dante's current design, but why not have this design to begin with?

I kinda wonder that myself too, but what I think it is is that Capcom would have just told them back to the drawing board and make something more different which they accomplished.

I read that Capcom did send NT back to redesign because it looked too close to classic Dante.

As for DmC Dante, his hair is going to change, so maybe it will be like that at the end of the game.

Looks like same inputs with slightly different animations. In DMC3 Vergils Beowulf felt unbelievably different to Dante's and they were using the same weapon, why the hell does this Vergils yamato play like rebellion with a few different moves :/ (Or at least, that's what I can see from the vid). It just seems like more imagination could have been used.
