Let's see if I can decipher some of the new moves.
0:30 - Rising Star: Looks like his Beowulf launcher from DMC3 (two vertical underhand circular strikes), but done with Yamato. Sheath glows blue.
0:31 - Helm Breaker: Identical to HB with Force Edge from DMC3, but done with Yamato.
0:33 - Aerial Rave: Like Dante's. Full combo at 0:48, showing three hits.
0:35 - Upperslash: Pretty much High Time with Yamato. Vergil jumps up with the strike in this variation.
0:35 - Helm Breaker level 2?: Same as above, but a wind slash extends far past the blade.
0:37 - Orbit: A wide aerial draw-strike in a vertical circle, followed up with semicircular strike aimed downward. Sheath glows blue during the move.
0:38 - Drive: Downward overhead aerial draw-strike. Turns enemy into a comet toward the ground. Sheath glows red. Vergil remains airborne.
0:51 - Killer Bee: Red flash, then Vergil does a flying kick downward that bounces him up a bit on hit. Yamato glows red.
0:52 - Slasher: Basic three-hit combo, lifted directly from DMC3.
0:53 - Spiral Swords: Same as DMC3.
0:53 - Blistering Swords: Five Summoned Swords appear above Vergil, aimed at target. Costs one white block of magic.
0:59 - Judgment Cut: Looks like Slash Dimension from DMC4's Dark Slayer Style. Sheath glowing white before move.
1:00 - Rapid Slash: Misses here, but is listed on the Style gauge for a split second at 1:02.
1:01 - Flare: Vergil does a spinning jump with Yamato, very wide horizontal circular strike, hits 360. Sheath glows blue.
1:06 - Stomp: Vergil plunges Yamato into the ground with a fiery shockwave. Sheath and Yamato glow blue.
1:08 - Summoned Sword: Summoned Sword still embedded in Stygian.
1:09 - Divorce: Strong, solid overhead strike on the ground. Not a draw-strike like the end of Slasher. Sheath glowing red.
Other stuff: Vergil launches a blue Summoned Sword at his Trick target, a parallel to Angel Lift. Normal Summoned/Blistering/Spiral swords are white.
Frame-by-frame, Vergil's moves look totally sweet. The animations are top-notch, though the flashy effects could use a touch-up (I always loved the crescents that Yamato left behind in DMC3). It looks like Vergil uses Yamato in Human, Angel, and Demon stances, which I honestly like quite a bit. It gives him the theme of dedication to his family blade, and I like seeing single weapons used in multiple distinct styles. Seeing that Trick toward a target is the equivalent of Angel Lift, I really want to see what his Demon Pull looks like. A red sword that drags enemies to him? A red sword that teleports his enemies to him? Either could be really cool.
I want that DLC!
