Vergil gameplay

I dunno how I feel about this... From the tiny bits shown, his style seems like it will be way too similar to Dante.

But, hopefully I'm wrong. I'm hoping Vergil will take some time to learn.

What concerns me is the lack of weapons. I hope that Yamato isn't the only weapon he has.

That worries me too. Vergil seems to have a slower fighting style (wrongly worded, but I'll explain), and I have no idea if I'll like any new weapons they give him (I'm worried there will be weapons that are meant to be spammed).

What I mean by slow, is that it seems like he makes short, and quick attacks with pauses inbetween. The Yamato from previous games can be used effectively, or spammed. In DMC1 it was just a reskin of Alastor, so it was spammed by Sparda... but in DMC3 Vergil uses his weapons in bursts. He'll attack, retreat, attack, retreat... etc.

I'm tired, and I'm not sure where I'm going with this point.... but what I'm saying is, is that I like the whole short burst style of fighting. Instead of being Dante and just running in slashing everything, I'd like Vergil to be more effective as a character that stands back and jumps in and out of an enemies face to take care of them quickly.

Feel free to point out any flaws in my logic here.

No complaints here. DMC Vergil is indeed quicker than DmC Vergil but DmC Vergil has that doppelganger move which may prove to be highly useful.

Can't say I wasn't disappointed for that clip. So his angel lift is the teleport, he even has the angel glide? He's not unique at all? Same moves, different animations?

And man, Unreal Engine is an ugly ass engine for Vergil's moves, even though they look good for Dante.

I dunno, it just doesnt hype me up as much as the first gameplay trailer. But this looks cool. Also, killer bee move is back! Hope i can jc that move.

if you look closely at the beginning of trailer, it seems that Vergil is really hurt , like he can barley walk !

anyway , thanks for the share CheeseKao

I don't know where this wave of negativity came from but this is exactly what I expected from Vergil's gameplay and I loved it! Can't wait!

Vergil doesn't look like he's doing ok in his hellish world. Those demons looked brutal as anything.

Did you guys notice he's got a little bar below his health like Dante did for Devil Trigger? Wonder what that's for =D

Also 48 seconds in, you can see markings on the wall like those seen in his and Dante's old home.

And I need a shower. @.@ Dammit Vergil.

Why are you guys saying Vergil is slower? I see it just about the same speed as Dante... Whether that's good or bad it's up to you. And the guy only did like two moves on each clip XD

But then again, DMC3 Vergil was just as fast as Dante (depending on your load-out). Except that his animations just made him "look" like he was faster... pulling stuff like using the Yamato without pulling the sword out of the sheath and whatnot, but in terms of frames his moves were quite consistent with Dante's animations.

If anything, I'll say what I said back when I saw the Downfall trailer, his animations make him look like he has to take a huge dump and is holding it in really badly. He looks way too stiff... but I would also find it kinda hard to move around in his clothing...

um at :50, whats with all the crows? are they Vergils or part of that demon? to me it looks like the crows are swarming the demon.
